The doctor released Cody from the hospital, and his injuries limited him on what he could do. Since it was Valentine's Day, I spent the evening with him.

"Okay, I brought movies, snacks, and beverage," I said, showing Cody what I brought. "Since you're incapacitated, I figure we can chill."

"Do you mean Netflix and chill?" Cody asked.

My expression changed as I stood there, speechless. Cody chuckled softly.

"Relax. I couldn't do anything if I wanted to with my injuries. Plus, you're not ready," Cody told me.

"I could be ready," I reasoned.

"Okay, take off your clothes," Cody suggested.

My eyes widened.

"You're not ready," Cody reasoned.

I exhaled.

"Coop, don't rush sex. No one says you need to lose your virginity before you graduate," Cody explained.

I walked over and sat down on Cody's bed. "I know, but we'll have it at some point," I mentioned.

"The mere fact that you can't say sex means that you're not ready. It shouldn't be an issue if you are," Cody reasoned.

"It's unnerving how you can read me," I commented.

"It's not difficult. It took me months to get you to date me. You thought I was playing a game," Cody mentioned.

"Well, you had a reputation," I reminded Cody.

"One that people started with a rumor. I don't even know how the rumor got started. One day, I minded my business, the next, I'm some player. I'm not into flings. I prefer more intimate relationships, which means communicating," Cody explained.

"I can do that," I agreed.

"Good, now come here and lie next to me while we watch a movie," Cody coaxed.

I moved over and laid down next to Cody as he pressed play on the remote control. That was the thing about Cody; I didn't feel pressured today anything I wasn't ready. Sex is a big deal.

What do you do for a girl on Valentine's Day when you never dated? Well, I will tell you what Larissa and I did. We played board games. Yeah, I know, unromantic, but it wasn't for us.

I moved my piece, landing on one of Larissa's properties.

"Ha, you owe me five hundred big ones!" Larissa exclaimed.

"You're such a crook," I retorted, handing her money.

"Yes, but this crook is rich," Larissa remarked, sticking her tongue out at me.

"That's mature," I commented, rolling my eyes.

"What can I say? I have the maturity level of a nat," Larissa responded.

We kept playing as Larissa took all my money. I suck at board games.

"So, when do you think it will happen?" Larissa asked as I rolled the dice.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I dropped the dice on the board.

"You know, it," Larissa said, emphasizing the word it.

I stopped and looked at Larissa. "Define it," I said.

"Well, sex," Larissa said.

"Oh, that it. Well, uh, are we sure we need to discuss it? I mean, why do we need to talk about it? What's the purpose of discussing it? Do we know for sure?" I rambled, avoiding the topic of sex.
