Homecoming chaos

Homecoming arrived, and what was to be a quiet evening of fixing a mess turned into a bigger mess. Ten of us stood in the principal's office, looking like we went to hell. I wish I were in hell before Gavin and Ty showed up. I'm never seeing daylight after tonight.

Let me backtrack to how this mess happened. I got ready for homecoming, and my dads took a billion pictures. I had to call in reinforcements so I could pick up Coop and Larissa. I called Grandpa Bob and Ian. Have you met my grandpas? One can't dress, and the other can't fish.

I made the grand escape and left before Grandpa Bob gave me fashion tips. I thought Grandma Ruth burned his shirt.

I picked up Coop reluctantly. Well, Coop's reluctant, not me. I drove over to Larissa's house and made Coop get in the back seat. We argued, but it's weird if I like a girl, and she sits in the back seat while my gay cousin sits in the front seat. Coop pouted, and I ignored him. Homecoming should be a blast. Cody better not fuck this up.

We arrived at the school and got out of the car. I heard Coop grumble as we made our way inside the gym. Who the hell has a dance in a gym? Junior high, I could see, but homecoming?

"Well, the gym looks nice but smells of dirty, sweaty gym socks," Larissa mentioned, making a face.

I chuckled. We walked towards the table with snacks and drinks. It's a good thing that I ate before I got ready. The food sucked here.

As more people entered, music played, and Larissa dragged me onto the dance floor. Most people usually dance. We aren't those people. What fun is dancing if you can't enjoy doing stupid shit? Plus, I have no clue how to dance. I just wing it, hoping for the best.

While Larissa and I were busy getting our boogie on, we weren't paying attention to the people around us. That proves to be a problem. See, when you don't pay attention to your surroundings, you miss people that enter and bumped into people you shouldn't, namely the banshees.

I showed up at the homecoming dance, dressed in a black suit, looking for Coop. I saw him standing next to a table wearing a pair of black slacks and a shirt. I made my way to him as Casey and Larissa fling each other around like dolls. What the hell were those two doing?

I maneuvered to avoid both hitting me, but it didn't work. Larissa and Casey bumped into me, making me knock into someone else. The guy turned and swung at me. I ducked, and he hit another guy. The two guys started fighting as I scrambled out of the way, slipping on the punch that someone spilled onto the floor and crashing into some girl.

The girl took exception, slapped me, and I moved her out of the way. She tripped and fell into another girl. Those girls started fighting. Then it escalated as more people became involved. All I wanted to do was find Coop, but that didn't happen. I ended up in a mound of people on the floor.

Larissa and I heard yelling, and we stopped to see the massive wrestling match happening in the gym. I looked for Coop, didn't see him and went searching. Yeah, that didn't work out for me, because I got dragged into the depths of hell.

The banshees cornered Larissa and took exception to us hanging them on the basketball hoop. I crawled out from under the mob of people and ran to help Larissa, sliding across the floor and crashing into Coop. Well, I found Coop.

"Get off me, you putz," Coop growled.

"With pleasure, because you're not Larissa, and this is weird," I mentioned, getting off of Coop.
