Coop
I walked into school with Casey as Larissa ran and jumped on Casey, knocking him onto the floor. I stood there as Casey laid on his stomach, and Larissa sat up while sitting on his butt.
"Is there a reason you jumped on me like a monkey?" Casey asked.
"It's my way of greeting you," Larissa answered.
Casey pushed her off and stood up as Larissa followed suit. "How about a good morning, followed with a handshake?" Casey asked.
"What fun is that?" Larissa questioned.
"Where's your bodyguard?" Casey asked.
"Presley isn't my bodyguard. He's my cousin and went home last night," Larissa said as we walked to our lockers.
"Couldn't Presley handle going to school here?" Casey asked, making me roll my eyes.
"Oh, Presley could handle it, but I think Uncle Lex was teaching him a lesson. That's fine with me, considering then I don't have to deal with the gross things my cousins do," Larissa said, making a face.
I chuckled. While Casey and Larissa went back and forth, I went to my locker. I opened it, grabbing my books. I shut the door to see Trent leaning with his back against the lockers.
"Is there a reason that you're standing there?" I asked.
"Just hanging out," Trent mentioned, grinning.
"You're very strange," I mentioned.
"I move to the beat of my drum. Plus, most of the people here are self-absorbed dinks," Trent replied.
"Are you new?" I asked.
"Yeah, the rents thought it was a good idea to give me a change of scenery," Trent answered.
Do you know that little voice in your head that says beware of people who seem too friendly? Yeah, mine was screaming at me, which I chose to ignore.
"Why would anyone transfer their kid during their senior year?" I questioned.
"Why not?" Trent asked, shrugging.
Casey and Larissa walked up, horsing around with each other. They stopped when they saw Trent.
"Who's this?" Casey asked.
"Trent," Trent introduced himself.
"You new?" Casey asked.
"Yep, and I met Coop yesterday when he was fighting with his locker. The poor locker seemed defenseless," Trent joked.
"Right," Casey said.
"Well, I got to get to class. See you later, Coop," Trent mentioned, walking away.
I watched Trent leave and glance back at me, smiling. Casey waved his hand in front of my face. I looked at him.
"I'm not one to discuss someone liking another person, but it seems that dude was flirting with you," Casey mentioned.
"I doubt it," I replied, blowing off Casey's comment.
"Are you sure about that?" Casey asked.
I gave Casey a look and rolled my eyes. I went to class. I didn't need the third degree about some guy who I met. I walked into class and sat down. A few minutes later, Casey strolled in and sat down next to me.
"Thanks for waiting for me, dink," Casey told me.
"I figure you had someone occupying your time," I retorted.
