Coop
I sat in my room, working on homework when I heard a tap at my window. I got up and saw Cody outside of it. I pushed the slider up with one hand as Cody leaned into my room.
"What are you doing?" I questioned.
"Hanging around," Cody answered, grinning.
"You know that you can use the front door. Most sane people do," I reasoned.
"What fun would be that? Move over," Cody said l, climbing into my room. I looked at him and noticed a black eye.
"Just out of curiosity, why do you have a black eye?" I asked, pointing to Cody's shiner.
"Oh, this?" Cody asked.
I looked at Cody questionably.
"I walked into a fist," Cody answered casually.
"What fist?" I asked suspiciously.
"Oh, you know the kind that belongs to a douche who disapproves of someone's sexual orientation," Cody replied, walking over and laying down on my bed.
"Who hit you?" I asked.
"Some guy who took exception when I defended myself," Cody answered.
"Why would anyone care if you're bisexual?" I questioned.
"I never said that I was bisexual," Cody replied.
"Say what?" I asked, confused.
"People assumed I'm bisexual. I never said that I was," Cody said, moving his arms behind his head.
I walked over and sat down in my desk chair. "Everyone at school said that you were, that's why we assumed," I reasoned.
"Because people enjoy rumors. Honestly, I don't care what people say about me. I do care when they don't leave me alone. I might have received a black eye, but the other guy looks worse," Cody told me, smiling.
I chuckled.
"So, are we going to discuss the elephant in the room, or do you plan on avoiding the topic forever?" Cody asked me.
"What elephant?" I asked.
"Why you would get involve with a guy like Trent," Cody answered.
I looked at Cody and sighed. Cody sat up on the bed.
"Coop, talk to me," Cody coaxed.
"Honestly, I didn't want to get involved with Trent. My gut told me not to do it," I said.
"Then, why did you?" Cody asked me.
"Because I was lonely and angry at you," I admitted.
Cody looked at me with concern.
"I thought with you away at school and me back at home; you would feel that you would find someone better. Then when I saw you with your cousin, I figured I was right," I told Cody.
"Damn, you have no trust in me," Cody commented.
I arched an eyebrow.
"Coop, I'm not that person that moves onto someone because distance separates me. It's not like I wouldn't be home for holidays or vacations, and there's always FaceTime," Cody mentioned.
"Then why didn't you tell me the truth about your cousin rooming with you at school?" I questioned.
"You didn't give me a chance. Plus, I didn't know until he showed up. My cousin has a habit of surprising me constantly. I even called my mom, and she asked me what is the fun if she told me that my cousin came to my school. My mom doesn't help," Cody remarked.
