Mackenzie’s POV:
There’sless than an hour until my date with Luke and I can’t wait.I’m pretty happy,Luke makes me happy,he helps me take my mind off of Nick.I haven’t really thought much of Nick these past few weeks and I’m glad,I thought getting over him was going to be hard but it really isn’t.I guess getting over someone you love is pretty easy or maybe I didn’t love him,who knows.I look in the mirror and look over at what I’m wearing,a black short dress with some red high heels,I really like this outfit even if Nick bought it for me.I decide to add some accessories,so I look through my jewelry box and find a shiny diamond ring with my name on it and slide it on.I also decide to put on a gold chain that belonged to my mom,I hope I’m not over doing it,I start to walk downstairs and as I exit my room I take a look at my makeup,it looks pretty good.I reapply a layer of redlipstick and head downstairs,”Hey Michael!”
“Mackenzie you look gorgeous!” Victoria says as she turns around and notices me.
“Aw thank you Vic,” I start to blush,I feel gorgeous too.I also feel lucky that I’m going on a date with Luke,I’m really excited,”What are your guys’ plans for tonight?”
“We’re just gonna stay in and watch some movies,order some pizza ya know the usual.” Michael says as he takes a bite into some pizza,”You can join us if you like while you wait for Luke.You won’t have to wait a long time though because that boy is always on time,in fact he usually gets there early.”
“I’d love to join you guys.” I smile at Michael and we all make our way to the living room and Victoria and I sit down as Michael puts on a movie, “I’m really excited for tonight,where do you think he’s gonna take me?”
“Hmm..I don’t know,I ran into him at the store and he was looking real fancy.”
“What store?”I ask wanting to know what Luke was buying.
“Just a store,”Michael smirks at me,”I don’t want to ruin anything for tonight.” I pout at him and go on my phone,it’s already seven forty-five and he’s not here yet,looks like Michael was wrong about Luke being here early.
“Hey,I’ll be back.I’m gonna go get my purse from upstairs.” I tell Mikey and Vic,they just nod and I make my way upstairs to my room.I look out the window since I have a view of the street and I don’t see Luke anywhere and I start getting sad,I don’t know why I expected him to show up,he hasn’t even texted me all week and now I got my hopes up.I’m not gonna let him win though,I can’t make it seem like he stood me up so I head downstairs,”Bye guys,Luke is here.”I fake a smile at them,”I hope you guys enjoy your night.Bye.”
“Bye Mackenzie,I hope you have fun tonight,you deserve it.” Victoria says to me and I just smile at her before leaving the house.I start walking away from my house and once I’m a couple of houses away I start crying.I was crying so hard,I have never gotten stood up for a date before and now I know how much it hurts,especially after getting your hopes up and all this shit.He didn’t even bother to text me saying he couldn’t make it..I take off my high heels and walk barefoot for a couple of blocks until I decide where I want to go,after walking for a couple of more blocks,I finally arrive and his house and I go up to ring the doorbell,I probably look like shit but I don’t care.
“Mackenzie are you okay?” Calum asks as he opens the door and invites me in.
“Nooo.” I hug him and sob into him, “Luke totally stood me up Calum,I got ready for no reason and now I look like shit.I didn’t know where to go since I told Michael and Victoria that Luke was here to pick me up but he really wasn’t so I decided to walk around and then I thought of coming to your house.”
“What a dick.” Calum says,hugging me tightly. “Did he really not show up?He didn’t even text you?”
“No.That’s the worst part Cal..I feel so stupid!”
“You shouldn’t..I think something happened to Luke,he’s never like this.If he really did bail on you he would’ve at least called you,he wouldn’t even have bailed.” Calum says with concern growing on his face, “Did you text him?Call him?”
“Yes!It goes straight to voicemail.”
“That’s weird..Mackenzie go wash yourself up.I’ll be back.” Calum says as he runs upstairs.I go into his bathroom and take a look in the mirror.I look like shit.I clean my smudged makeup and reapply it,I feel like shit but I don’t want to look like it too.I head out of the bathroom and into the living room and I see Calum all dressed up.
“What are you doing Calum?” I ask shocked.
“I’m taking you out.”
