Chapter thirteen

The sound of Elena's voice causes Maddie to open her eyes, she attempts to move her limps but quickly realizes that she'd been restrained. Her eyes find Elena's brown ones and they both search for answers as to what in the world was happening. They were placed on a couch and the house they were in was trashed, there was hardly any furniture and all of the windows were boarded up. Suddenly a man walks into the room and both girls huddle closer, the man removes his jacket and his hat before sitting down next to Elena and beginning to untie her bonds. 

"what do you want?" 

"shhh"

"please stop she's hurt!" Maddie begs, the man's attention moves over to her and veins appear from underneath his eyes, similar to how Katherines had that day she went into the tomb. He bends down and removes her hair ignoring her kicks and Elenas screams, his teeth are about to pierce her skin when a voice scolds the man, he instantly pulls away and stands up. The girl sighs in relief as Elena moves over to her and unties her restraints as well before pulling her into her arms. 

"what do you want with us?"

"god you look just like her, and you live up to the legend the blood running through your veins is unlike anything I've ever experienced" The woman says looking between the two girls 

"I'm not Katherine"

"I know who you are now be quiet!"

"what do you want?" Elena asks getting to her feet and walking over to the woman, Maddie holds her arm out to stop her but her friend gives her a look saying it was ok. The woman glares and backhands Elena hard enough for her to fly through the air landing on the couch once again.

"I want you to be quiet" she states giving Maddie one last look before exiting the room in a flash. The girl instantly leans over her friend and sighing as she realizes Elena was knocked out cold. A few minutes later the woman returns holding a pair of clothes, wordlessly she holds them out and Maddie smiles softly taking them. She hadn't realized that she was still in her gown from the ball but she was extremely thankful to have been given some more comfortable clothes if they were going to be here a while.

Hours later after Elena had woken up the girls had snuck out of the main living room and followed their captures voices into the hallway, they both paused and listened to them as they argued about something "I'm sick of running"

"well-running keeps us from dying!"

"Elijah's old school if he accepts our deal we're free" The woman replies, Maddie and Elena share a look as they near the door she nods to her friend and the brunette takes a step however the floor creaks causing both of their heads to turn over to face the girls. The woman storms over to them with an angry look on her face.

"there is nothing here for miles, if you think you're getting out of this house you're tragically wrong you understand?"

"who's Elijah?" Maddie asks ignoring the woman threat

"he's your worst nightmare" she says before stalking off back down the hall, both girls share a look and panic starts to set in. They needed to get out of that house before he got there otherwise they were royally screwed. However, both knew that they had no chance of getting away when the people holding them captive were vampires, and the mysterious man named Elijah must be one as well.
