Chapter twenty two

"you've got to be kidding me, Klaus? as in the newly made hybrid who just murdered the man I loved in front of me?" Maddie asks as she and Stefan walk down the sidewalk up to the building he lived in, Bonnie had done a locator spell once she had informed them of the only cure from her ancestors. She had wanted to keep as far away from the man who stole the man she loved as the smirk on his lips after he pulled Williams's heart out continued to haunt her every time she closed her eyes. But she wasn't going to let fear get in the way of saving her brother.

"just let me do the talking ok?" 

"whatever you say brother" she murmurs as Stefan opens the door for her, they walk up to his floor before moving down the hall and stopping as they reach his apartment. The girl takes a deep breath before knocking, the door opens to reveal the one and only Katherine Pierce who looks at them with wide eyes. They shove past her and enter gaining the attention of Klaus and Elijah.

"the Salvatore twins what are you doing here?"

"we need your help"

"whatever it is will have to wait for a tick I have an obligation to my brother that requires my immediate attention" 

"you both understand the importance of family, my brother gave me his word he will reunite me with ours" Elijah steps forward with a guilty look on his face, it was his fault Klaus was still breathing after he failed to kill his brother during the transformation.

"and so I shall" Klaus smirks before plunging a dagger into his heart, Elijah screams in pain and grasps onto his brother's shoulder before falling onto the ground as his body desiccates. Klaus steps over his body before vamp speeding at Stefan and holding him against the wall.

"now what am I going to do with the two of you?"

"the witches said you had a cure. make me a deal, just give me the cure and I'll do whatever you want" Stefan croaks out

"the problem is I don't know if you'd be any good to me the way you are now, however your sister, well she'll do just fine. But you Stefan are just shy of useless" Klaus smirks as he pours blood into a glass before walking over to her and pulling her to sit at the table.

"you see I heard about this one vampire, crazy bloke always on and off the wagon for decades. When he was off he was magnificent, 1917 he went to Monterey and wiped out an entire migrant village. A true ripper, sound familiar?"

"I haven't been that way in a very long time"

"that is the vampire I would make a deal with and that is the kind of talent I could use when I leave this town. Now Katerina come here" Klaus says holding his hand out, the woman follows instructions and walks over to him cautiously. He instantly grips her hand and brings it to his mouth sinking his teeth into her skin, the woman screams and Maddie watches in horror as the veins start to spread on her arm. Klaus then bites into his wrist and forces it down Katherine's throat smirking as they all watch it magically heal like it never happened. 

"your blood is the cure"

"gotta love mother nature, now lets talk" Klaus responds leading Stefan over to the table, he takes a seat next to his sister as they watch Klaus drag a knife down his palm and drain the blood into a vile. 

"how about a decade-long bender? I have big plans for you when we leave this town"

"I'm not like that anymore"
