Sakura went to visit as soon as she heard the news. As we sat next to his bed, I explained everything to her, starting with that night.

Flashback

It was like any ordinary day. I had come to see Itachi off before he left for work. I had noticed that there was something different about him. He seemed distant, withdrawn, and there was a sad glint in his eyes. When I asked him about it, he gave me his usual adorable smile and said everything was fine, and I believed him. How naïve I was!

We went to the academy as usual and tried our best. Later that afternoon, my Medical Ninjutsu training was running overtime. Sasuke had agreed to wait for me like the kind brother he was, despite me insisting that he go ahead.

We got back to the Uchiha compound and noticed that it was eerily quiet. We turned the corner on the way home and saw dead bodies everywhere, all wearing the Uchiha crest. There were weapons and blood scattered everywhere. We ran to our house, fearing for Sasuke's parents. We got to the house and opened every door, but they were all empty. Suddenly, we heard a noise coming from the prayer room.

When we got there, we cautiously opened the doors and were frozen at the sight. There, in the middle of the room, were the dead bodies of Aunty Mikoto and Uncle Fugaku, Sasuke's parents. Emerging from the shadows was my betrothed, Itachi. Immediately, I put the pieces together.

I collapsed on my knees and clenched my fists, letting the tears flow freely. "You're a monster!" It came out as a mere whisper, but loud enough to fill the room. I could feel myself losing control of the curse mark I'd worked so hard to control, but I didn't care. Before I could completely lose control, everything went black. I woke up the next day at the hospital.

End of flashback

After that, I continued to tell her everything I'd left out in the Forest of Death, especially my relationship with Itachi.

Meanwhile,

Itachi's P.O.V

I had been contacted by our leader. Kisame was off somewhere, I didn't really care, so it was just me. I was giving him my report on the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki mission.

"I heard you met Orochimaru's daughter," he said. I did my best to hide my frown. "I want you to recruit her. Her abilities could be of use to us".

After that, he quickly ended the call. I could no longer hide my disappointment and frustration. 'Damn it! I was hoping to keep her out of this!' I clutched my chest as I remembered the look she gave me during our first meeting. 'Why did you have to look at me like that?' I looked down at the bracelet on my wrist with the Uchiha crest as I remembered seeing (Y/N) wearing the matching one, the one I gave her so long ago. 'And why do you still wear that?'

Taking a deep breath, I went off to go find my fiancé. Knowing her, she'd most likely be with Sasuke.

(Y/N) P.O.V

I had just finished telling Sakura our story. I didn't think her eyes could grow any wider. I had done my best to heal him, but the only person I knew with any chance of healing Sasuke and Kakashi Sensei was Aunty Tsunade.

Not long after I finished telling Sakura everything, I sensed a presence on the other side of Sasuke's bed. I didn't even have to look up to know who it was. "What do you want?" I looked up and came face-to-face with the last man I ever expected to see. "Itachi".

Ignoring my question, he looked down at his little brother and asked, "How is he?"

"Like you care," I replied, salty. After a while, I sighed and looked back down at my brother. "He's not waking up. Chances are he's going to be here for a while". I looked back up at Itachi. "Do you know how to heal him?"
