Nightless city was filled with an army of fighter's who would stop at nothing today. They had prepared themselves for the war which was about to happen, getting ready for the bloodshed which was about to be committed by them.

An emergency meeting was immediately organised when nie mingjue showed up in the gates of the cloud recesses.

Baoshan sanren knew something was wrong when she saw that the old man qiren was frowning. She was allowed inside the meeting hall unlike wei Ying who still had no idea on what was happening.

"What is happening?" Jiang cheng asked xichen who just frowned in return. "Something very bad." This sent chills down his spine. What could have happened?..

Wen ning and wen ning were standing along with eachother. Their eyes were red and hair was disheveled. Wen qing couldn't stop the tears from her eyes from pouting out.

Wen ning pulled his shijie into a hug consoling her. Xichen just cleared his throat getting everybody's attention. Lan Zhan who was standing next to him didn't look that well either.

"As you may have recieved the message from jin guangshan. The wen remanents are dead." Zewu jun said taking the scroll in his hands and showing it to the people standing by them.

Jiang cheng felt his world still. He looked at the wen siblings who were now trying to control their tears. "How?" Xichen looked at jiang cheng wiping the fresh tears streaming down his eyes.

"Jin clan leader along with some other clans had suddenly planned the attack." Zewu jun said looking at the siblings who were the next target.

"B-but nobody knew their location except for wei Wuxian." Jiang cheng stuttered looking at lan Zhan who looked down. Zewu jun's frown got deeper after hearing this.

"My boy hasn't left the cloud recesses in months! Don't you dare blame him!" Baoshan sanren burst out into flames looking at jiang cheng.

" I would never blame my brother!" He retorted back with pain evident in his voice. " We aren't blaming wei Ying. It was someone else!" Zewu jun said stopping the people from arguing with eachother.
