Trixie fixed her hair in her mirror as she waited outside Katya's house. Katya and her family were supposed to leave in the morning at about 10 from what she had told Trixie. Trixie didn't want to admit it but she was going to miss Katya. The idea of waking up next to Katya and cooking with her was an idea she had grown to love. Trixie felt like she was in quicksand. She was being pulled down, deep into Katya. They didn't have a label but there was an unspoken thing between them. Was it friendship? Or was it more? They didn't know. Maybe because they didn't want to know or were afraid to know. Trixie sighed and leaned on her elbow as she scrolled through her phone. She looked at her texts with Katya from a few hours ago.
Katya: Are we still on for tonight?
Trixie: Of course baby, unless you want to cancel?
Katya: NO.
Katya: I mean no, I don't want to cancel. What makes you think that?
Trixie: Just asking princess
Katya: Blah whatever
Trixie: Do I sense an attitude?
Katya: And if you do?
Trixie: Sorry to disappoint you sweetie but there will be none of that tonight, we are relaxing and having fun tonight.
Katya: We always have fun
Trixie: Wholesome fun
Katya: Sure, we'll see how fun that will be.
Trixie loved Katya's attitude and sass, even when Katya meant for it to upset her. Trixie thought that Katya was cute, among other things. Trixie's gallery had quickly become filled with pictures of Katya and a few of them both. When she was having a bad day, Trixie found comfort in the seflies that she would receive every morning. What had she gotten herself into? She still had a little more than half of the school year with Katya and she had a feeling that this thing between them wasn't gonna end any time soon. Trixie was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of the car door opening. She looked over to see Katya getting in and she looked amazing. "Sorry it took me so long, I had to do something with my hair." Katya leaned over and gave Trixie a quick kiss.
"It's okay. You look very beautiful by the way."
"Thank you. Okay, so where are we going?"
"It's a secret."
"Trixie, are you serious?"
"Yes ma'am, yes I am." Katya groaned as she rolled her eyes.
"You suck."
"Yes, I do and very well might I add." Katya sank down in her seat and sighed. The drive was peaceful. The radio was playing soft tunes in the background and the wind was blowing, making a cool breeze nip at Katya's nose. Trixie softly nodded her head to the music playing through her car speakers, tapping her hand on the arm rest. Katya looked at Trixie's hand and bit her lip. She wanted to hold Trixie's hand but didn't know if she could. It was stupid. Trixie's fingers had been deep in Katya many times but here Katya was, worrying about something as simple as holding hands. She thought it was too relationship like. Katya knew that Trixie wasn't looking for anything serious, and she respected that. Trixie and Katya hadn't really talked about Trixie's life before she moved, even though Katya was curious about it. Katya wanted to know everything there was to know about Trixie. Her favorite food, movie, song, all of the little things. She just thought that was too personal. "Katya?"
"Huh? Yeah?"
"I asked if you had a good day today love."
"Oh yeah, sorry. Um, yes I had a good day."
