After leaving Katya's house, Trixie rushed home. She had lost track of time completely. It was going on 9:45 and Pearl was supposed to be at Trixie's house at around 10. Trixie didn't have time for a shower so she changed and put a little bit of concealer on her neck where she needed it. She really didn't expect to spend hours at Katya's house, yet alone spend hours on her knees. Trixie was honestly surprised that she didn't have rug burn. Trixie took one final look at herself before rushing downstairs, after hearing the doorbell. Trixie opened the door with a huge smile. "Pearl!"

"Hey Trixie." Pearl. Trixie's long time childhood friend, smiled softly. Trixie pulled Pearl into a hug, a long hug. It felt good to hold a piece of home. The one piece of home that didn't rip Trixie's heart apart. After a few more seconds, Trixie let Pearl go with a chuckle. Pearl helped Trixie with her move to the city but after she spent those first four weeks with Trixie, she had to go back home.

"How was your flight?" Trixie grabbed one of Pearl's bags as she closed the door.

"Long but not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. I still hated it though."

"Of course you did. Have you decided how long you will be staying?"

"However long you want me to stay."

"I don't think forever is an option on the table huh?"

"Okay, maybe not that long."

"Worth a shot." Pearl followed Trixie upstairs to the spare room, setting down her bags with a knowing smile. "What?"

"Oh, nothing."

"You are lying."

"Yeah, well you made an effort to hide it so you didn't want me to know."

"What are you talking about?"

"These." Pearl poked the left side of Trixie's neck with enough force to sting. Trixie slapped away Pearl's hand with a frown.

"Stop it."

"You missed like two, but I'm guessing that there are way more." Trixie stood quiet as she covered her neck. She should have went with the turtleneck. "My question is, who in the hell marked you up like that?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. Want a drink?" Trixie walked out of the bedroom, downstairs. Pearl followed Trixie as she laughed. "Pearl, shut up. It's nothing."

"I don't know that because someone neglected to tell me they were seeing someone."

"I'm not seeing anybody."

"Fine. my bad. Someone neglected to tell me that she was FUCKING someone." Trixie sighed as handed Pearl a beer. Trixie sat on the counter with her glass of wine as she tried to ignore Pearl. "So, who is she?"

"No one."

"Lie."

"Why does it matter?"

"Because she has to be matter. She is hella important if you let her leave such things on you. You're usually very iffy about that." Trixie was silent. "Do you work with her? Is she your boss?" Silence. Pearl thought for a moment before smiling. "Is she a student?" Trixie cleared her throat as she looked at Pearl. "Bingo. Wait, is it the girl you met at the coffee shop? The one you met a few days before school started?"

"Yeah."

"Trixie."

"Listen, I know okay? I know."

"I wasn't gonna say anything bad. I was just gonna ask if you like her?"

"No, I don't."

"Lie."

"Pearl."

"What? It is."

"We are just messing around, that it is. There is nothing but sex."

"You are just lying so much today."

"I'm not."

"You are. Trixie, you know it's okay to like someone right?" Pearl put her hand on Trixie's arm with a look of concern.

"I don't like her Pearl."

"You avoided my question. Trixie, everyone is not Max."

"Pearl, I know."

"Are you sure about that?" Max was Trixie's ex and the first girl she ever fell in love with. Max was Trixie's everything and it broke Trixie when she found out Max had been cheating with Fame, a close friend. Well, a former close friend.

"Pearl, I said I know."

"Then why don't you like this girl?"

"I don't understand that question."

"Trixie, you never have had sex without emotions. You usually only sleep with someone after you already have formed some type of romantic attraction. It happen with Max and shortly after with Dela."

"Don't bring Dela up right now."

"I'm right though. You like this girl, why won't you just admit it?"

"Because there is nothing there Pearl. End of discussion." Trixie jumped off her the counter and walked past Pearl to the living room.

"Don't you end of discussion me. You are running from your feelings."

"YoU ArE rUnnINg..leave me alone."

"Ooh someone is being a toddler."

"You're damn right I am because you are bullying me."

"I am not bullying you. You are just full of shit at the moment."

"That is your opinion."

"It is a fact mama, even if you don't want to admit it. She isn't Max. Trixie, they aren't the same."

"You don't know that!" Trixie turned around and stared at Pearl. "You have no fucking way of knowing that Pearl. I don't even have a way of knowing that!"

"Trixie.."

"No! I like her okay? I do, are you happy now? I like her and..and I shouldn't" Trixie sat on the bottom stair and put her face in her hands. Pearl sat beside Trixie and softly rubbed her shoulder.

"That's okay."

"No, it isn't. Pearl, I don't want to love anyone else ever again. That is why I stopped talking to Dela. I don't feel like having my heart ripped out again. And she's so young."

"A few years younger than you, what does that have to do with anything?"

"She wants to live life to the fullest without having the chains of a serious relationship."

"Did she tell you that or are you just saying that because that is what Max told you when you caught her cheating? Everyone is different Trixie. If this girl likes you, and you like her then give it a chance."

"I don't think I can Pearl, I really can't."
