*Saturday*
It was the last day of the trip and everyone was sad to be going home. This trip was a much needed break for everyone who came. It was a time to get rid of stress and to also reform broken bonds. There was no toxic energy to be found. Trixie was helping the girls load everything onto the bus when she heard someone yell for her. She turned to see Mikey running towards her. "Oh hello Mikey."
"Hey teach."
"I haven't seen you lately, how is everything between you and you know who?"
"That's actually what I came to talk to you about."
"Everything okay?"
"Uh yeah, can we go over there and talk?"
"Sure." Mikey and Trixie walked away from the buses, making their way to the dock. "So?"
"I wanted to say thank you."
"For what?"
"Turns out Ryan likes me too."
"Really?"
"Yeah, he said he just didn't know how I felt so he didn't want to say anything. Says he didn't want to go after something if it wasn't there."
"That is good, but what does that mean for you two? What about you and your girlfriend?"
"I talked to her also and she understood, she says that she hopes we can still be friends. She also said she is happy for me."
"I am happy for you too Mikey. I'm very proud of you, that couldn't have been easy."
"Ms. Mattel, it feels good not to hide. I didn't know how tiring holding back my emotions actually was. But after I told Ryan how I felt, I felt a huge weight lifted..even before knowing how he felt about me." Trixie smiled at Mikey softly as she thought for a moment. Trixie hadn't been honest with Katya about her feelings fully. Sure, she told Katya that she did love her, but in the past tense. "Teach?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay?"
"Oh, yes I'm fine. Sorry about that."
"You look like you have something on your mind."
"I always do."
"I'll tell you what my dad always tells me."
"And what's that?"
"Go with the flow of the river because fighting against it just wears you out. If you flow with it, eventually there will be a change in the tide. Fighting against it means you are going backwards and well you've already seen what's behind you. You stayed in the river for a reason..to see what was ahead."
"Your dad sounds like a very smart man."
"He is, he's the best." Trixie smiled and put her hand on Mikey's shoulder.
"I'm happy you have him."
"Me too."
"Mikey! Come on!"
"I should get going, I'll see ya later teach."
"Okay Mikey." Trixie turned and watched Mikey run to Ryan, taking ahold of his hand.
"They work everything out?"
"Yeah."
"You helped him a lot, you know that right?" Katya gently nudged Trixie with her elbow.
"All I did was tell him what he needed to hear."
"Yeah, but if he didn't hear it then he would be miserable. You gave him the little push to go forward."
"Katya?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you want to come spend the night with me on Christmas, after you spend time with your sister?"
"Really?"
"Yes, if you don't it's okay. I would understand."
"I would like that. We could kiss under the mistletoe and put together a gingerbread house."
"Those things are gross."
"I know but they are fun to destroy." Trixie chuckled as Katya smiled at her.
"Alright, we can do that then. It sounds kind of nice."
"Only kind of?" Trixie scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Come on, let's get on the bus."
"Can I sit next to you?"
"Sure, I don't see why not."
"Yes!"

The bus ride back home was filled with singing, laughing, and a bunch shouting. Katya had her head on Trixie's shoulder, annoyed with all the screaming. "Why do they have to be so loud?"
"Because they have energy, they aren't tired like before."
"Should have slipped something into their breakfast."
"Katya, that is awful."
"Well, it's the truth." Trixie shook her head and went back to reading her book. " You look so into that book. What is it about anyway?"
"Oh, it is about a woman who falls in love with a girl who works in the coffee shop across the street from her job."
"Sounds so basic."
"I guess but I enjoy it. The woman struggles to come to terms with her emotions because the girl is younger than her and also because she was married to some guy who broke her heart. The back cover says it is a love story of two women, but I think it's more than that."
"What do you mean?"
"Well Kelly, the older woman, has to learn to love herself again. For the longest she thought that her ex husband hurting her was her own fault, because she wasn't good enough. She has to learn to love herself before she can love Rebecca."
"Sounds sad."
"It's actually very beautiful. Reading about her growth is so amazing. Kelly went from a woman, broken and so un-wanting of love, to being in love. She was so closed off but then once she sees Rebecca, that changes. She talks to the Rebecca everyday and before she can stop it, Kelly already feels for her. Rebecca makes Kelly want to love again."
"Does Rebecca love Kelly back?"
"She does, very much."
"Do you think they will end up together?" Katya looked up into Trixie's eyes, searching for an answer to a question she refused to ask.
"I really hope they do. I have faith that they will." Katya softly rubbed her thumb over the back of Trixie's hand.
"Me too."
