*Thanksgiving*
"Katya, baby do you think you could get me the carrots?"
"Sure." Katya put her sketchbook down and walked to the fridge, pulling out the bag of carrots that her and Trixie picked up from the store. "Here you go."
"Thanks sugar." Katya nodded and sat back down on the window steal, continuing with her drawing. "What are you working on baby?"
"Oh, um nothing."
"Sure sounds like something."
"Nope."
"Come on, tell me."
"No."
"Katya, please?" Trixie looked at Katya, batting her long lashes.
"Ugh, fine." Katya sighed as she held up her open notebook. Trixie gasped then smiled.
"Is that me? Naked?" Katya blushed as she closed the book.
"Yeah."
"What's wrong?"
"Do you like it?"
"Like it? Baby, I love it. It is so nice. You are so talented, you did a really good job."
"Thank you. So, what are you making?"
"Well, right now I am making a carrot cake. The turkey is in the oven."
"That sounds really good, but you don't eat meat."
"Yes, but you do baby."
"You're sweet but you didn't have to do that."
"You have decided to spend this holiday with me, so yes I do. Is your mother still blowing up your phone?"
"Dad took her phone for the day, told me to relax."
"Your dad sounds nice."
"He is. He is the best." Trixie hummed in response, focusing on the cake. "Trixie, can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Why did you and your ex break up?"
"Oh."
"You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm sorry."
"No, it's okay. I've been waiting for that question really." Trixie sighed and looked outside the window that was above the sink. "Well, long story short..she cheated. I caught her in her office with a really close friend."
"I'm so sorry."
"Don't be. I knew all along but I didn't want to believe it."
"Why? Where you that in love with her?"
"Not her exactly. I was in love with the idea of being in love. I was in love with the idea of having someone who was all about me, all for me. She treated me great. With such care and softness. I loved that. I wanted a lifetime with that. Not her but with what she made me feel."
"I'm sure you will find that again."
"I know that I could but I don't think I will be able to have it."
"Why?"
"Ever been cheated on?"
"No."
"It can break you, break your heart into a million little pieces. Even though I wasn't as in love as I thought, I still loved her. We spent our teenage years together. Countless nights talking about out dreams and hopes for the future. I was always in hers and well I just thought that maybe, just maybe we were gonna have that. I don't want my heart to get broken again."
"Do you think that it could, get broken again I mean?"
"It's half and half. There was this girl I knew, we met shortly after my breakup. She was like a ray of sunshine, so bright and beautiful."
"What happened?"
"I broke things off."
"Why?"
"Things were going too fast. I just wanted fun, not feelings but that is what happened. I didn't want to fall in love just to be fucked over again." Trixie took a deep breathe and chuckled. "Pearl tells me all the time that Max was just one person and that everyone isn't like her but it doesn't stick." Trixie leaned over the sink, tear drops hitting the peeled carrots. Katya stood up and walked to Trixie, pulling her into a hug.
"You gave yourself to someone and they didn't respect that, you have every right to feel the way you do. There is no time frame set to tell you when you are supposed to be over that feeling, so don't let anyone tell you." Trixie sniffled as Katya hugged her tighter. She blinked a few times before bursting into a full on cry. She felt walls falling to the ground, being dust at her feet. Trixie felt a rush of emotions, ones that she hadn't felt in a long time. This is what she was scared of. Trixie knew she had feelings for Katya, she just knew how not to focus on them. Katya made it hard though, this was hard.
