"Meat, check. Gulay, check. Condiments, check." Pangalawang beses na pagbibilang ko sa mga sangkap ng sinigang na baboy. Iyon ang napagdesisyunan kong lulutuin para kay Gabriel mamaya.
Kagabi pa lang ay pinag-isipan ko na ang putaheng ito. Nagtanong pa ako kay tita kung ano ba ang madaling lutuin para sa isang taong gusto mong bigyan ng pasasalamat. Aniya, sinigang daw. Masabaw na, tunog espesyal pa.

Hindi ko mapigilang mapangiti habang ini-imagine ang mga komento ni Gabriel mamaya.
"Wow, Gabriella! Ang galing mo magluto. You're such a wife material!" iniisip kong pagkatuwa ni Gabriel matapos tikman ang aking luto.
"Ganoon ba? So pwede na?" He will nod in joy and kneel on the floor.
"Will you marry me?" pagkuwan ang magiging tanong niya.
"Yes!" I will gladly answer.
Syempre sino ba naman ako para humindi?!

"Uy Gabby trabaho na!" sigaw sa akin ni Joaquin.
Agad akong napaalisto at sinimulan ang trabaho. Pumunta agad ako sa aking cubicle at ipinatong ang mga gamit. Baka mamaya, isipin pa nilang nagmumukha na akong baliw dahil panay ang ngiti ko kahit patong-patong ang papel na nakatambak sa desk ko.
