Bryce's P.O.V
"Hey we are kinda running low on water bottles, and a few other things right now." Jaden shouted from the kitchen. He was doing the weekly check to see what we didn't have, so we could get it and always have everything we need.
"Me and Quinton will get it if you give us a list." I said.
"We will?" Quinton said quirking an eyebrow at me from his place on the couch.
"Yeah c'mon it'll be fun." I persuaded.
"Okay fine, we will." He said getting up. Jaden came out of the kitchen and handed me the list of things we needed.
"You look like a kid who's about to go shopping for his mom." Blake laughed at us.
"Shut up." I said and Jaden reached out to slap him but he dodged it and ran away laughing.
"Anyway can I take your car?" I said.
"Nope."
"Why?"
"Because you'll scratch it or something. Take the other one." Jaden said pushing me and Quinton out the door.
"No I won't, please?" I pleaded.
"Now you look like an upset child." Blake shouted from down the hall.
"SHUT UP!" I yelled trying to run after him but Quinton grabbed the other car keys and pulled me out the door.
"We'll be back later." He said to Jaden.
"We could've taken the good car but no we have to take the beat up rusty old piece of shit." I mumbled while we walked down the hall.
"Blake's right you are a child." Quinton said.
"Not you too!" I gasped. He laughed and skipped of down the hall, I smiled and jogged to catch up with him.
We got outside and got inside the other car that we only used when Jaden wasn't with us, it wasn't nearly as flashy or cool but it worked and that was the most important thing.
"So where are we going?" Quinton asked.
"I was thinking the mall close to us, we don't just have to get the stuff you know." I said, he nodded and we continued driving just making small talk.
I'm not sure when it started but something about the way feel about Quinton is different. I love all the boys but as friends but sometimes I look at Quinton and I get this feeling that I don't get when I look at Jaden or Blake. For the first few months since the outbreak all I could think about was Addison and how much I missed her but in these recent months Quinton has crossed my mind a lot more than normal.
"Bryce?" Quinton's voice brought me back to reality.
"Yeah?"
"You were staring."
"Oh sorry." I laughed nervously. There was an awkward pause but before I could say anything I realised the mall was just ahead of us.
"We're here." I said parking and getting out of the car. I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulders.
"I really don't understand why you carry that everywhere." Quinton said taking his mostly empty bag and throwing knives.
"You never know when you might need to climb down the side of a building." I shrugged. We walked through the empty parking lot and up to the front door of the mall, well doorframe, the glass lay shattered on the ground.
"Wait." Quinton said before we could walk in. I looked at him and he gave me a nervous glance. The mall was one of the many places zombies liked to go during the day so they wouldn't burn. Quinton highly disliked the zombies so it was understandable that he was hesitant to enter a place where many could be.
