Nisha's Point of View
As I awoke from the unsettling dream, I found myself catching my breath and trying to calm my nerves. The vividness of the vision puzzled me, and I couldn't fathom why I had experienced such a dream or what it might signify.
Startled by a sudden voice beside me, I turned to see the maestro sitting right next to me. His presence took me by surprise, and I was taken aback by his unexpected appearance.
Beside the maestro, I could vaguely make out Shawn, whose face seemed filled with fear. However, I couldn't see him clearly, which only added to the mysterious atmosphere.
Concerned about my well-being, Shawn asked, "Are you okay? I'm worried about you." I tried my best to maintain a composed facade and act as though nothing was amiss in his presence. With a reassuring smile and a nod, I acknowledged his concern before turning my attention back to the maestro, who was still looking intently at me.
Having gathered myself, I made an effort to communicate with the maestro, despite feeling a lingering numbness in my body. I looked around and realized we were in an unfamiliar room.
"You're in Blyth Otwa's hospital," the maestro stated in a flat tone, responding to my unspoken question about our location. I nodded in acknowledgment before proceeding with my inquiry.
"Why do you think I wasn't dreaming?" I asked, curious to understand his perspective.
The maestro stood up, taking a deep breath, and I followed his lead as he moved around the room. My gaze was drawn to a table piled high with an assortment of fruits. I watched in astonishment as he effortlessly picked up an apple and sliced it without using a knife. Leaning against the table, he began chewing the apple while standing before me.
"It was real. It happened," he answered coldly, leaving no room for doubt in his response.
"I still can't comprehend how he could enter my dream," I asked once more, seeking clarification.
I observed as he carefully placed the shattered fruit back into the container before coming closer to me. As he tugged on the tube attached to my wrist, I felt a sense of amazement, yet surprisingly, there was no pain. Despite the tube seemingly impeding blood flow, I felt oddly normal. I also noticed that I was now dressed in a different outfit, unlike my previous attire of pajamas and a baggy dress. Although it was strange, I decided to set aside that thought and refocus my attention on the maestro as he spoke.
"I'm afraid I can't provide an answer to that. But be prepared, as I'll be accompanying you on this journey," he stated before walking away, leaving us all baffled by his enigmatic presence.
Five people, who had shown a keen interest in knowing more, approached me without hesitation. However, much to my surprise, I soon lost sight of them as they seemed to vanish from view. But every time I closed and opened my eyes, they reappeared before me.
"Are you all right?" Nathalie asked, expressing concern.
"What are your thoughts? Is something troubling you?" Shawn inquired with a worried expression.
"Do you want something to eat?" Rebecca offered, trying to be helpful.
"Just say the word, and we'll get you something," Christopher chimed in with his advice.
I glared at each of them, and they immediately sensed my discomfort. A heavy silence fell upon us, as if an angel had just passed by.
"I'm fine, really. I'm just curious about what happened," I reassured them, hoping to put their minds at ease. Shawn, after taking a deep breath, hugged me and kissed my forehead. I mustered a few sparse smiles, realizing how different our relationship was compared to conventional couples. We understood that we couldn't indulge in typical romantic gestures while facing the challenges that lay ahead. Our focus was entirely on the task at hand, putting everything else aside. Although we were in a relationship, we chose to prioritize survival and defeating our adversaries before allowing ourselves the luxury of a more ordinary life together. Our love was strong, but we recognized that overcoming the impending turmoil was crucial for our relationship to thrive. Once we had secured our future, we could build our own family and enjoy all the joys of a life well-deserved.
