"Tawag ka po ni Chairman."ani Jackie na nakasingaw sa pintuan ko.
Tumayo ako at walang imik na nilagpasan siya. Ewan ko. I'm not in the mood right now. I'm probably exhausted with some unknown reasons.
Tahimik akong pumasok sa elevator hanggang sa makarating sa opisina ni daddy. Naroon si Rocco na nakahilig sa glass wall at si Haide na nakaupo sa sofa kaharap ni dad.
"Pinatawag niyo raw po ako?"nang makalapit.
"Yes..."simula ni dad. Sinipat nito si Haide na nakakrus ang braso at matalim na nakatingin sa anak. "Next week na ang start ng construction sa expansion. I offered Rocco to supervise it but he declined. Can you do it instead, Martina?"
My gaze flew to Rocco who immediately looked away annoyingly. This thing is easy to him I know. But at the same time it's a privilege but I guess he has reasons specially that...
"If that's what you want me to do, dad, then it's fine with me. That's the least thing I can do for you."saad ko.
Mas lalo lang umasim ang mukha ni Haide sa gilid at hindi na nagsalita pa. Ngumiti naman si daddy sa akin at nagpatuloy. "Then, it's your job now to visit the site as soon as it start next week. This will lessen Rocco's obligations however, I will I'll be sending him to some appointments in behalf of me. That I guess, we'll all be fair here."
"I'm fine with that..."sabi ko na ang mata ay nasa kapatid.
That was just a short discussion from dad. When Rocco left the office leaving daddy and Haide behind I immediately followed him inside his office. They were just on the same floor so we don't need to use elevators.
"Ba't hindi mo tinanggap?"pagsunod ko.
Nakayukod ang dalawa niyang kamay sa bintana at nasa labas ang tingin. Huminga siya ng malalim at hinarap ako.
"She's very difficult to deal with. I need to give her most of my time and attention. Kung tatanggapin ko pa ang alok ni Tito mas lalo lang iikli ang oras ko sa kanya."paliwanag niya.
I crossed my arms. As I stare at him I can feel how hard and hopeless it is for him. Nanlalambot ang puso ko tuwing nakikita siyang ganito. I've known him for quite awhile being silent and expressionless. At ngayong nakikita siyang ganito ay masakit para sa akin.
"Is her pregnancy very difficult?"
Tumango siya. Hinilamos ang palad sa mukha at talagang nahihirapan.
"The doctor warned me about it the very first time I got her checked. Kung ano ano ang cravings at mahirap pakisamahan ang mood..."hirap niyang saad.
Maybe the girl don't want this whole thing that's why she's acting that way. She's making everything difficult for him. And it's just sad to even think about it. I felt bad for her but most of it for my brother.
"Do you want me to, you know, talk to her..."offer ko.
"Hindi na. Kaya ko naman. Kaya ko pa naman siya."
"Rocco, it's obvious that you can't handle her alone. And you guys need some help. I'm here, I'll help you deal with her. Please?"
He got silent for a while tapping his fingers on the table to probably think about it. I will help them as far as I can.
"Okay. But please let's take this slow for her. She's emotional at all times. Ayaw ko siyang biglain."pagpayag niya.
I smiled. A very assuring one. "Promise. Tutulungan kita hanggat saan ko kaya."
