Hey!

I have a little challenge for you...yes, you, the wonderful person reading this letter. I know that things can suck sometimes, so I want to help you. This is what I do when I feel hopeless.

Go get a piece of paper and a pen. I'll wait here, okay? :)

Ready?

I want you first to list all the people you love: crushes, friends, family, even your pets.

Next, list places that you love: your bedroom, the beach, Niagara Falls, anywhere.

Now list all the things you love: everything from chocolate to Doctor Who to snow days to video games to summertime.

And finally, list your favorite memories: blowing out birthday candles, winning an award, meeting your best friend for the first time, going on a trip.

Now you're going to fold up that piece of paper and hide it somewhere safe where no one but you can find it. Remember where you put it, though, because the next time you feel lost, the next time you feel miserable, the next time you feel like there's nothing to live for, you're going to seek out this piece of paper.

And you're going to remember that there's good in the world, and that it's worth living another day.
