you looked at me today and smiled.

I know it might not sound like much, but when you choose to look at me, it's always when you "know" I'm not looking. I notice in the flicker of movement in my peripheral, the quick turn of your head if I meet your gaze. it happens pretty often, but it's subtle enough so that I tend to doubt myself and explain away your actions.

but today you made direct eye contact with me.

and you smiled, an almost self-conscious grin that stuck on your face for much longer than it should have.

You hope to change the world someday.

But believe it or not, you already are.

Mine, in particular.

We may be strangers but there is something behind every glance

There's this one moment when someone has let their gaze fall upon your for a second too long, an extra instant of eye contact once you finished your sentence, that's so profound and intense and absolutely gorgeous; it feels like all the walls are entirely fallen and there is just love left in the world, and you want it to last forever, but the world is closing in and an instant longer could mean everything, and you have to look away.
