Remy looked up from his phone, pushing his sunglasses up his nose.

"Oh, hey Virge. What d'you want, babes?" He asked nonchalantly. Virgil blinked, his eyes getting used to the darkness of Remy's room which wasn't lit, the curtains were closed and every surface was a dark brown or blue.

"First of all, how do you see in here? Second of all, I've just been asked on my first date!"

"So, let me get this straight-"

Virgil growled. So far, Remy had been going over what Virgil had told him for fifteen minutes and not helping Virgil with what he was going to wear for his date.

"Yes, I am going on a date with Roman. Yes, he asked me. No, this was not a prank and yes, I am extremely anxious about it so could you please stop asking!"

"Okay, okay. Jeese, gurl I was-"

"Just asking, I know."

Remy rolled his eyes and rolled off of Virgil's bed, landing on the floor with a thump before getting up and going over to Virgil's wardrobe, throwing the doors open.

"Jesus, don't break it!"

Remy looked from the wardrobe to Virgil and back again.

"Do you own anything that isn't black?" Remy sighed. "Whatever, I'll just have to work some magic on my own." He grabbed a black top and jeans from the wardrobe and threw them at Virgil. "Stay here." He told him. "I'm just going to go grab something."

Virgil sighed, sitting down on his bed as his older brother left the room. "This'll never work." He thought desperately. "Why did I even agree to this?"

"Mkay babes, I'm back. And I think what I have could just save your non-existent love life!" Remy yelled, throwing a jacket at Virgil. Virgil put his hands up to protect his face and caught the jacket, fumbling with it before finally being able to look at it.

"A leather jacket?" He asked. Remy nodded enthusiastically.

"It helped me get a boyfriend."

"Yes but you're you. You wear stuff like this all the time!" Virgil protested. "And I'm... me. It won't work. I'll look like an idiot."

"Virgil, look at me." Remy said, taking his younger brother by the shoulders. "It is 100% going to work. You're you and that means that you're awesome. And I think that if Roman asked you out, he's got to be so fucking in love with you that he doesn't care what you look like."

Virgil snorted with laughter. "Was that meant to reassure me?"

"Yes and I'll have you know it worked." Remy said. "Now," he picked up the leather jacket off the floor and threw it at Virgil, "get ready to shine."

Virgil laughed again as Remy turned to leave the room. "Hey Remy?" He asked. Remy turned around and Virgil smiled at him. "Thanks."

Roman rang the bell, trying to swallow the ball of anxiety that had lodged in his throat. He pulled on a lose string on his red shirt, snapping it off. The door opened and he looked up, his green eyes wide with worry.

It was one of the baristas from the Starbucks. Roman guessed that he was Virgil's brother.

"Virge!" He yelled up the stairs. "Roman's here."

"One sec!" Virgil yelled back down. The guy turned back to Roman.

"You gonna hurt my brother?" He asked suddenly.

"Uh, no. I... I don't intend to." Lying didn't make the ball of anxiety in Roman's throat any smaller.

"When are you going to get Virgil home?"

"Uh, nine or ten? No later." Roman reassured.

"Remy, would you stop with the questions?" Virgil asked, drawing Roman's attention to him. Roman's mouth nearly fell wide open.

Virgil was fiddling with the cuff of a black leather jacket, not looking anyone in the eye. He had a black top on which was slightly too short for him, showing a small part of his flat stomach. His black ripped jeans were low-slung and he wore a small chain of silver around his neck. The black make-up usually under his eyes was now ringing his eyes, making their grey colour more pronounced. Virgil refused to look at either boy.

"Virge, look at me." Remy said, grabbing his brother's chin gently. "You look brilliant. Just look at Roman's face."

Virgil's eyes shyly flicked to Roman who quickly looked away, blushing red.

"Go on." Remy said, pushing Virgil out of the door. "Have him home no later than ten-thirty or me and dad will personally hunt you down."

Roman nodded and the door closed with a snap. He turned to Virgil who was still tugging on the cuff of his jacket.

"You look beautiful." Roman said, knowing that there were no lies in this comment. Virgil smiled slightly, looking up at Roman and blushing slightly.

"Thank you. Um, you too." He said hurriedly. Roman laughed slightly and puffed out his chest.

"Obviously."

Virgil laughed and, not really thinking, took Roman's hand. Though it was unexpected, it felt right. Roman smiled and started walking, pulling Virgil along slightly.

"You really do look beautiful." Roman said after about ten minutes of walking in a comfortable silence.

"Yeah, well, most of this is my brother's work. I'd never look like this without-"

"No, it's not that." Roman stopped and turned Virgil's face to his. "It's this." Gently, he put a hand on Virgil's cheek. "This is what's beautiful."

Virgil smiled at Roman, his face turning pink. Roman saw a spark of something in Virgil's eyes and it made his heart sink. The spark in Virgil's eyes was love.
