Unsurprisingly for England, the rain hadn't stopped by the next day. Still, Virgil was somehow out in in. Why? Because Issac had insisted that one hour of jumping in puddles and over-flowing his wellie boots wasn't enough. So now Virgil was out in the pouring rain again, his hood pulled up over his eyes and his arms crossed protectively in front of him. Looking around, he went and huddled under a tree off to his left. It wasn't much, but it was better than being out in the downpour. Hearing a loud, laughing and painfully familiar voice near him, he looked around.

On the other side of the tree, splashing around in the torrential rain was none other than Roman Winston, his red and gold rain-coat shiny with rain, jumping in and out of puddles like a little kid. He was belting out 'Singin' In The Rain' and smiling like a lunatic. Virgil hadn't meant to stare, he just had. Seeing Roman so happy could help him kid himself that none of this had happened. Roman hadn't agreed to the bet, he'd just started talking to Virgil for some reason of personal chivalry and they were still together. Virgil hadn't even realised he'd been smiling, completely absorbed in his personal fantasy. Roman cut himself off by letting out a wildly happy laugh, tilting his face up to the rain.

"I'm happy again!" He yelled up into the sky, laughing again. "Let the stormy clouds chase!" Splash. "Everyone from the place!" Splash. "Come on with the rain!" Splash. "I'm happy again!" Splash. Suddenly, Roman stopped and tilted his head down, making Virgil jump slightly with the change in his face. All the smile, all the sunshine, had gone from his face, leaving a blank expression with a spark of sadness. "Storm Cloud." Roman said and Virgil jumped again, thinking he'd been spotted. "God, I miss him." Roman was looking back up at the rain, screwing his eyes up slightly against the relentless water. "Why'd I even agree to that stupid bet in the first place?" He kicking the puddle he was standing in, spraying water everywhere.

"So you regret meeting me, huh?" Virgil thought bitterly, his eyes not leaving Roman's face which was still tilted towards the sky.

"I don't regret agreeing to the bet, actually." Roman mused out loud. "I just... why'd he have to find out? And why couldn't we have talked normally about it?" He laughed slightly. "But of course, Sunshine's stubborn as Hell, isn't he? Guess that's one of the things that made me love him so much." He looked down at his feet. "Wish I'd realised it sooner."

Virgil darted back around the tree, his heart beating unusually fast. He practised some breathing techniques but his heartbeat wouldn't slow down. His head was reelling from what he'd just heard.

"So... what he said was true." He thought. "He wasn't lying. That doesn't change what he did." He thought firmly. "But he loves me. That's got to mean something, right?"

Virgil shook his head and strode out into the downpour, calling his younger brother's name.

Roman smiled slightly down at the paving stones under his feet.

"Hope you heard that, Storm Cloud." He whispered, his voice lost in the rain. "I miss you."

Can anyone tell that this was written with a very bad case of Writer's Block while listening to the soundtrack for Singin' In The Rain? Really? Was it that obvious?
