WARNING: Panic attack

Virgil felt a tug on his arm and instinctively tucked it under him. Living with two other boys had taught him some things. Next, someone was tapping his head. He made a little half-moan noise, which was muffled by his pillow, and swatted at the person's hand.

"Virge, you need to get up." It was Remy.

"No." Virgil mumbled. This was also lost into his pillow.

"Virge, you need to go to school." His older brother said firmly.

"No." Virgil muttered again. "Roman'll be there."

"Well if you want, I could always beat him up."

Virgil shot up in bed, his hair a mess and his grey eyes blazing. "You're not hurting him. Ever." He hissed. Remy raised his eyebrows above his sunglasses.

"So... you don't ever want to see him again but you don't want him to get hurt?" Remy laughed slightly in spite of himself. "That's a messed up relationship, Virge."

"Don't you think I know that?" Virgil asked, slumping back down in bed.

"Oh no, you are not going back to sleep now that I've got you up." Remy said, grabbing Virgil's pyjama sleeve and dragging him out of bed onto the floor. He sighed, his hands on his hips. "Well, that's a start."

"Remy, I'm not going to school." Virgil said firmly, getting up off the floor only to be attacked by a school blazer and tie. "Remy, what the Hell?" He asked as he shoved the clothes onto his bed.

"You are going to school, mister." Remy said firmly before leaving the room, closing the door behind him.

"Virgil." Veronica asked just as her son was about to leave. Virgil sighed, wheeling around.

"Yes mum?"

"Promise me you'll get through a whole day of school? No skipping because of this.. boy?" Virgil bit his tongue, physically holding back the retort.

"Mum," he said carefully, "I can't promise that. I mean, you saw what Roman was like when he met you and dad. That's not something I'm going to get over quickly."

"I know, honey, but, please, just... try?" Virgil could see how much Veronica wanted him to be okay and sighed inwardly.

"I'll try mum." A smile tugged at the side of his mouth as his mum smiled, kissing him on the head before ushering him out the door.

Virgil took a deep breath as he kept his head down, walking into the school building. No matter what, he would complete a full day of school. He would complete a full day of school. He would complete a full day of school. He would-

There was Roman now. Looking painfully perfect, smiling slightly at something his brother had said. Virgil felt his airways close up as Roman looked over the crowd of students, catching Virgil's eye. Suddenly, Virgil couldn't breathe and there was no way he was going to complete a full day of school if Roman was going to look like that. Virgil turned and ran.

He ran out of the school building and around the side of the school, avoiding any teachers that might be there. He couldn't breathe and there were black spots at the edge of his vision. His back hit a wall and he slid down it, sitting on the ground with his knees drawn up to his chest, panicking. Hot tears ran down his cheeks and he pulled at his hair and scratched his scalp until it bled. He just couldn't regulate his breathing. He couldn't!

"I'm sorry mum. I'm really damn sorry. I just couldn't do it." He thought, trying desperately to remember some breathing techniques. Slowly, he began to calm down and found he could catch his breath again. Now he was just crying.

His tears fell into his lap, soaking into the grey material of his school trousers. He tugged on his fringe slightly, telling himself to get a grip. He didn't even hear the footsteps that were approaching.

"Virgil?"
