Roman closed his eyes and sighed. Remus was right. The end of the bet was drawing closer and closer and he still hadn't claimed that he'd won. He and Virgil had grown really close over the past month and a half. And... he cared about Virgil more than he let on. He didn't know how to explain it but he knew one thing. If someone hurt his Sunshine, they wouldn't live to see the next day. Wait, his? What has he talking about?

"Princey? You still awake?" A voice asked, making him jump. Virgil laughed as Roman glared at him. "Sorry to wake you, Sleeping Beauty." He laughed. He pulled Roman up and out of the shade of the tree.

"So you found me?"

"Yeah. It was pretty easy. I just imagined you holding my hand and leading the way. Muscle memory." Virgil tapped the side of his head slightly.

"Well, come on. The chariot awaits." Roman said, bowing. Virgil laughed.

"You mean your parents car which you stole?"

"At least I can actually drive."

"So you mean you've got a mini cinema down here and you never told me?!" Virgil asked incredulously as Roman drew a dark blue curtain across the small window cut in the top of the wall.

"Not a cinema as such. It's just a small TV, a couch and a working DVD player."

"Mini cinema." Virgil repeated stubbornly. Roman laughed slightly and picked Virgil up princess style. Virgil let out a shriek of surprise and annoyance, winding his arms around Roman's neck.

"Put me down." He hissed into Roman's shoulder. Roman laughed again.

"As you wish, my dear Virgil." He dropped him down on the couch, getting another squawk out of Virgil. "Okay so 'Kiss Me Kate' first or 'Singin' In The Rain'?"

" 'Kiss Me Kate'." Virgil said determindely, tucking his feet under himself. Roman nodded and put the DVD into the player, plopping down on the couch next to Virgil. "Are you going to sing along to everything?"

"Obviously." Roman said, his eyes already glued to the screen.

"Good." Virgil muttered, wrapping his arms around Roman's arm, leaning his head on Roman's shoulder. "Because I am too."

"I'm sorry, I should have waited." Virgil whispered along with the film. Roman laughed quietly, gazing at Virgil adoringly. He didn't even realise he was doing it. "You louse!"

Roman kissed the top of Virgil's head, drawing Virgil out of the film. "Promise you'll never call me a louse?" He asked, mock-pouting. Virgil laughed slightly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"Promise." He said, snuggling into Roman's side even more.

"Strange dear but true dear. When I'm close to you dear. The stars fill the sky." Virgil sang along with the song, harmonizing well with the actress. " So in love with you am I." He was no longer looking at the screen. He was looking up at Roman, still singing, a glint in his eye that told Roman he meant every word of what he was singing. "Even without you. My arms fold about you. You know darling why. So in love with you am I."

Roman smiled, his eyes genuine and slightly sad. "I love you too, Sunshine." He whispered, feeling his heart break from the lie he was telling.

"We're out of snacks." Roman muttered about half way through the film. "I'll go and refill them."

"Don't expect the film to be paused." Virgil muttered, his eyes glued to the screen.

"Okay." He said, smiling slightly at the smaller boy.

He grabbed the crisps from the kitchen and poured them into the bowl.

"Hey Roman?" A voice asked from behind him, making him jump and turn around.

"Oh, hey Re. I thought you were at Janus'."

"Mhm. I came back." Remus looked down the stairs to where both he and Roman knew Virgil was sitting. "Can we have a talk?"

"Sure. What about?"

"...The bet."
