As our little ladybug was growing it Henry and I decided we would teach her left and right, then teach her the same thing with her shoes so when she wants to be a big girl and put them on without the help she can and not hurt her little toes.
"Alright little ladybug, time to learn something new today," Henry said as he picked little ladybug up and placed her on his lap while he placed her little shoes next to him.
"What we learning?" she asked
"Left and right" he replied
"Left & right what?"
I smiled as I watched the two.
"feet."
She nodded her little head and waited for him to explain to her about the left and right feet.
He lifted a shoe and showed her
"alright ladybug this is the left foot," Henry said
She giggled
"No daddy that a shoe not foot" she giggled
He smiled
"I meant this goes on your left foot you silly ladybug" he replied
"oh..." she says
"Now this shoe goes on your left foot like so," he says and slips the shoe on her left foot.
"See that is how it will look" he shows her
She nods her little head and he moves on.
"And this one is your right foot," he said then slipped it on after showing her.
She looks at her feet and smiles.
"thank you," she says
He smiled and kisses her forehead
"Welcome ladybug."
"That not my name" she exclaims
"No it's your nickname mommy and I have for you" Henry replies
"Oh..otay."
I watch as she hops down and walks off.

for a few days when Henry's and my little ladybug would put her own shoes on, she'd have them on the wrong foot and one of us would let her know.
That was till one time we were in a hurry to get somewhere and just scooped her up and left.
When she kept talking about her feet hurting we paid attention that she had placed her shoes on the wrong foot.
I smiled as I removed her shoes and slipped them on the right feet.
"How bout we get stickers and cut em in half then place them in your shoes" I suggested as I fixed her right shoe before I helped her out of the car and watched as she walked over to Henry and he scooped her up while holding Kal's lead
"otay" she replied as she looked over at me from her daddy's arms.
I nodded my head and grabbed her diaper bag and followed them inside.

She picked out ladybug stickers when we asked her why she said I mommy and daddy's ladybug.
Which was the cutest thing ever.
With the stickers in her shoe marked she puts her shoes on the right foot.
