Tharn and Type walked into the small ramen shop near their dorm for a late dinner. They took their seats at a free booth sitting opposite to each other. The silence between them wasn't awkward but rather pleasant. A waitress approached the table to take their order.
"I'll have the spicy shrimp ramen." Type ordered as the waitress noted it down.
"That's all? Ai'Type, you haven't eaten all day! You need energy for tomorrow's football practice." Tharn said in a concerned voice
"I'm fine. I'm just not hungry." Type said slowly.
"Fine. I'll have the regular prawn ramen." Tharn gave his order. The waitress jotted it down, hiding a smile.
"That'll be all?" He asked.
Tharn looked at Type who nodded and then Tharn turned to the waitress, "Yes."
She nodded before pouring water into their glasses. Once she was done, she left to get their orders ready.
"So... how was practice?" Type decided to strike up a conversation first.
Tharn shrugged his shoulders. "It's going in well. Tum returns in a few days so practice will be a little hectic than usual." He said and Type nodded looking away.
They make small talk until the food arrives. The two roommates pull out a pair of chopsticks from the holder and a spoon each before digging into their bowls.
Tharn, with the help of his chopsticks, slowly takes a shrimp from his bowl and places it in Type's. Surprised by Tharn's act, Type looks up.
"Ai'Tharn?" No words seem to come to his mind to ask about this sudden gesture. Tharn continues to do this until he has no shrimp in his bowl.
"Just eat the shrimps. You need it more than me. And I know you love shrimps," Type gaped at his roommate.
How many times does Tharn plan to surprise him with?
"But how do you know that I love shrimp?" Tharn who was in the middle of slurping the noodles paused.
"Uhm... why else would you order it? And most of the time when you order food, there's shrimp or sushi involved." Tharn half lied. Back when they were kids, Type used to love the way Tharn's mother prepare the shrimp. He used to love to have lunch or dinner at Tharn's place whenever his mum cooked shrimp. Since Tharn didn't like sushi, his mum wouldn't cook but he used to see how Type love to eat the sashimi when his own mother used to prepare it for him.
Type bent down to drink the soup to hide his blush. He never knew Tharn had noticed all these little things of his. Was he doing all this on purpose?
The two roommates continued their normal conversation about their upcoming events while eating. When Type had finished, Tharn looked at his bowl to see that Type had eaten all the shrimp but there were still balance noodles left.
"Type, are you gonna finish that?" Type shook his head.
"I'm full." Was all he said as he stared back at Tharn.
"Ai'Type, I already said that you have to eat properly. And especially now, so please finish it." But Type again slowly shook his head.
"I'm fine. And I said I'm full." Type was adamant but yet his voice was soft.
Tharn picked up the noodles with his chopsticks from his bowl and held it out towards Type.
"Come on, please eat." Tharn said and Type could sense the worry and care in his voice.
With a small smile, Type leans forward and opens his mouth, taking the noodles and chewing on it.
Tharn now smiles. He cant believe that Type actually accepted to let Tharn feed him in the middle of a restaurant. Unbeknownst to the two of them, the waitresses behind start cooing at the sight in front of them.
