I can’t believe that today is our wedding day. Every is set according to the plan.
I’m looking myself in the mirror, I can’t believe that I am marrying the man of my dreams.
“Sorry... Masaya lang ako.”she chuckled while wiping her tears.
“Sobrang saya ko na napunta ka sa tamang tao”dugtong pa niya.
Silence.
“Everything is all set, ikaw na lang ang hinihintay.”sinuot ko na iyong sandals ko habang patuloy naman sa pagkuha ng mga litrato si Yssa.
I’m wearing a halter sleeveless and backless white evening gown that mommy bought for me. My hair was twisted to the side with white clips covered with pearls and silver flower embellishments.
I saw mommy waiting for me on the living room. I also saw those tears falling from her eyes. I know that she’s happy for me. She hugged me tight when I came closer to her.
“I am so happy for you, anak.”she said while placing the flower crown on my head.
I held her hand while we’re heading to the beach.
I am close to my dream becoming a Medina. I can’t help myself not to smile--- para na akong baliw. No words can explain how happy I am that I will marry the man of my dreams, that I will marry Paulo.
“Yve, are you ready?”mommy asked me.
I nodded and smiled.
I was holding a bouquet while I’m walking down the aisle. I saw Paulo on his gray suit jacket complete with matching trousers, waistcoat and dark gray tie.
He’s crying while looking at me, katabi niya si Ryker na pinipigilan umiyak.
“You look so amazing, Yvaine.”Paulo said to me.
“I always look amazing, Pau...”I chuckled.
I was looking down at the ground, holding back my tears as we walked. He gently squeezed my hand while I’m smiling at him. I am ready to start the rest of our lives together.
I don’t know if this is just a dream. Who would have thought that I would marry the guy I said I didn’t like? I watched him fall for someone else, but here I am right now, marrying him.
Kami talaga.
“Paulo, your vows.”the priest asked kindly. Paulo held my hands while looking at my eyes.
“Yvaine, today is a very special day for me because I am about to marry the woman of my dreams. The woman I want to spend my lifetime with. I promise to love you until the end. You are everything I need and at this moment I feel that my prayers have been answered... In sickness and in health I promise to take care of you. I know our love is heaven sent and I promise to be here always and forever.”
“Paulo, I promise to love you as sure as the sun will shine tomorrow and as sure as the stars will shine at night. I love you more than I can ever describe. I promise that you will become the happiest person on earth when you’re with me at our favorite place. I promise to hold on and never let go. I promise to stay beside you every day. I promise to love you until my last heartbeat. From this point on, you are my life, my everything... You ate always making me feel like I am the luckiest woman... And I promise to love you today and in another lifetime.”he was crying while I’m saying my vows to him.
“Do you, Paulo Nicolaj Medina, take Yvaine Dominique Fontanilla to be your wife?”the priest asked him.
“I do,"Paulo swore and it made me cry.
“Do you, Yvaine Dominique Fontanilla, take Paulo Nicolaj Medina as your husband?”
“I do,”
“I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!”Paulo leaned down and kissed me, but this kiss was different.
It’s my first kiss as his wife. I heard Paulo’s friends cheering loudly, lalo na si Ryker. Nangingibabaw.
“You are officially mine, Mrs. Medina...”he said.
As I sat on the car with Paulo, I was looking at him like I just want to stare him the whole time until we arrive the reception.
“What’s wrong, Yvaine?”he asked me.
“I’m just happy that I am a Medina...”I chuckled. He wiped my tears and gave me a huge smile.
“No, I am happy that we’re still together. I can finally call you my wife.”he said and another tears fell from my eyes.
“Stop crying…”he chuckled.
“How can I not cry if you’re saying those things to me?”I laughed while I’m resting my head on his chest.
He wrapped his arm on my waist, pulling me closer to him. “Thank you for making me the happiest woman alive. You are the best thing happened to me...”
“Happy monthsarry, Yvaine.”I looked at him and smiled but he gave me a kiss.
“I'm not feeling well. Can we go home?”I asked him while my eyes are closed.
“Yvaine, are you okay? May masama ba sa’yo?”tanong niya sa akin.
I held his hands tight. I was holding to my strength so I need to be strong.
“I can't breathe, Pau."
