Chapter 60 | The Date's Been Ruined...

Jiro's Pov.

  'I need to get out of this place.. That nightmare was just too much... Now it told the future..?'

  She flinched. It was almost too much to bear standing there. It was exactly like her nightmare... she couldn't tale it...

  'I need to get out of this place as soon as possible...'

  "Where did I screw up?" someone took her hand as she tried to walk away, "Please... I need to know..."

  'Kaminari...'

  Jiro didn't want to leave him there.

  'You didn't do anything wrong...'

  Jiro flinched again, pulling away her hand and turning back to Kaminari.

  Villain Kaminari had grabbed her arm in her nightmare, but Kaminari let go.

  "None of this is your fault," she took a step backward, away from him. No... away from where they were.

  "Kyoka, please!" he stood up and closed his eyes, looking really sad, "Please tell me what I did wrong... I can fix it..."

  The last thing he said stabbed her heart with guilt and sorrow. It tore her heart apart, and she couldn't hide it easily.

  'You don't need to fix anything about yourself! I like you the way you are!'

  "You didn't do anything wrong... I need to get away from this place..." Jiro told him.

  "But why?" Kaminari looked away from her, "Unless it was something I did wrong?"

  "Like I've been saying, none of this is your fault," Jiro felt awful to look back at the lake, it was all too much...

  She took a few steps back. She nearly didn't run when their gazes connected.

  'I'm sorry Kaminari...'

  Jiro sprinted away.

  She felt tears well up in her eyes after a few minutes of running, and she sat against a tree trunk in the school campus.

  'I can't believe I did that... He's never going to like me now...'

  She felt the knife dig deeper into her heart as his words echoed in her mind.

  "I can fix it..."

  'This was all my fault... You didn't do anything wrong! Don't change anything for me!'

  "I can fix it..."

  'I didn't run away because of you!'

  "I can fix it..."

  'Make it stop... Make it stop!'

  "I can fix it..."

  Tears only flowed out of her eyes more and more.  As Kaminari's voice wouldn't stop echoing over and over.

  "I can fix it..."

  She covered her ears, but she should've known that it wouldn't work to get Kaminari's words to stop...

  "I can fix it..."

  "Make it stop!" she screamed, but no one heard it, and then she whispered the next thing, "Please..."

  "I can fix it..."

  Jiro wished that Kaminari was there... He could help her up, tell her everything was going to be okay, maybe hug her, and then crack an awful joke...

  "Kaminari..." she mumbled, "I'm sorry..."

Kaminari's Pov.

  Kyoka ran away.

  She just... left him there...

  'Kyoka... Why won't you tell me what's wrong..?'

  He sat down on the bench and put his hands on his face.

  'I really messed up this time...'

  What did he do wrong? She said that she didn't like the place, but he couldn't help but think that she wasn't telling the truth... or at least the complete truth... Was it the food? Did she want to get something else? Or was it him..? Was he the problem..?

  "Kaminari, where did Jiro go?" he heard a voice.

  'Sounds familiar... Too familiar...'

  "Who-who is that..?" he turned his gaze up to look around. 

  "Me silly!" Ashido popped out of a bush near the bench!

  "Agh!" he jumped up.

  'What's Ashido doing here!? How did she get here!? When did she sneak into that bush!?'

  "Jeeze, you really didn't expect that I would watch you?" Ashido crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.

  'Is she serious..?'

  "Uh... No, that's not a normal thing to do," Kaminari shook his head vigorously.

  "I'm not a normal human being," she crossed her arms,  and then she turned silly, "iM nOt lIkE oThEr gIrLs!"

  He almost laughed, but didn't because Kyoka just ran away. It was kind of nice she was trying to cheer him up though.

  She sat next to him on the bench.

  "Go after her," Ashdo urged him.

  'I want to...'

  He felt like his heart was ripped from his chest and left on a lonely, far away rock... Of course he wanted to go after her! She would be able to heal it and he could only hope that he could mend hers...

  But... he knew that wasn't the case...

  "She obviously hates me..." he sighed, "Or at least wouldn't want to see me right now..."

  "I doubt that," Ashido told him.

  "What do you mean?" Kaminari looked up at her.

  "She blushes every time we mention your name, she loves being near you," Ashido told him, "Why else would you be in her nightmares? Oh wait... That sounds like a horrible thing to say... But you get what I mean! Why do you think the villain transforms into you? Because you're special to her and the villain knows that! You're one of the only ones she smiles for too. Haven't you noticed!?"

  'I want to go after her... I really want to go after her... but...'

  "She always calls me an idiot..." he sighed.

  "Because she doesn't know what to do with her feelings for you!" Ashido argued, "I'm pretty sure she has an internal crisis at least half the time you ask her a question!"

  'An internal crisis?'

  "Are you sure?" Kaminari started to regain his confidence.

  "Positive," Ashido nodded her head.

  "But what now..?" Kaminari wondered aloud.

  "Isn't it obvious!?" Ashido shouted at him, "So much for being her valiant knight."

  "Uh..." he didn't even know how to respond to that.

  "Go get your girl before Sero does!" Ashido pulled his hands up to make him get up and then shoved him really hard in the direction Kyoka went, "Go!"

  'Before Sero gets to her... right!'

  He nodded, smiling, and ran in the direction Kyoka went.

  'Thanks for the pep talk, Ashido.'
