Maxine had never run so fast in her life.

Well, not inside a shopping centre at least.

With her phone pressed to her ear, she went racing towards the exit, her heart hammering in her rib cage. When she'd picked up the phone and relised it was her brother, her heart had from a stroll in the park to a thirty metre dash! He'd told her that he was back from New York and was waiting for her in the shopping centre car park. Apparently, he text Katie, Maxine's driver and she'd told him that Maxine was in the shopping centre with her friends.

Maxine burst out the double doors, skidding to a stop as she almost ran into an old lady pushing a shopping trolly. Maxine turned in a circle, her eyes scanning every aspect if the car park in front of her.

"Where are you?" She asked. She heard Dylan chuckle from the other end of the phone.

"I'm over by the underground car park. And you might want to hurry up. The line for autographs is getting longer." Maxine ducked under the linked hands of a couple and began to run again, her bag dumping againts her side as she did so. She ran round the corner so fast she almost fell over. She pressed herself tightly against the wall as a bunch of teenaged came towards her, taking up the intire walkway. Maxine waited until they passed before skidding to a stop out side the underground car park. And there he was.

He was leaning against the side of his car with a long line of teenage girls in front of him, all the them giggling, mobile phones out, snapping photos at every opportunity they got. Dylan was just handing a signed notebook back to a girl with long red hair when he looked over her shoulder and spotted Maxine. A huge grin stretched across his face and he nodded his head towards her. His driver, Marcus, turned to look over his shoulder and then nodded. He put out his hands, slowly pushing the croud of existed girls back enough to let Dylan slip past them. Maxine dropped her bag and bounded towards him, leaping into his arms. He spun her round a couple to times before setting her back on her feet. Then he put his hands on her shoulders, his eyes scanning her face.

"God, you've grown." He said. Maxine rolled her eyes.

"I have not, you're just shrunk!" Dylan raised his eyebrows at her.

"I've shrunk have I?" Maxine nodded her head earnestly.

"Yes!" Dylan simply rolled his eyes as he put his hands on her shoulders, steering her towards the car. Just then a young girl of about seven years old came up, holding Maxine's bag in her hands. She was wearing a cute pair of light blue overalls over a white t-shirt and her hair was in two pigtails. She was so small Maxine's bag was almost too big for her to carry. She held it out to Maxine with a sweet smile on her face. Maxine bent down to her level and took the bag from her with a smile.

"Thank you very much." She said, smiling at the little girl. The girl ducked her head and grinned shyly.

"You're welcome." Maxine spotted her looking up at Dylan with an awe struck look in her face. But he was looking at something on his phone, not paying her any attention. Maxine sent her foot into his shin and he yelped, looking down at her. Then he looked down at the little girl and he must have seen the smile on her face because he knelt down beside Maxine and held out his hand.

"Hello." He said, with a smile. The little girl shyly to took his hand and shook it up and down.

"Hello." She whispered.

"What's your name?" Dylan asked.

"Ruby." She whispered.

"Pleased to meet Ruby, my name's Dylan." The little girl giggled and Maxine grinned, slipping Dylan's phone out of his pocket and snapping a picture on it.
