I awoke. I looked around wildly, I could've sworn I'd heard something, but there was nothing but darkness. I got up from the cold stone floor of the alleyway. I had slept for about five minutes before waking up to the sound of... well breathing.
Hhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhrrrr hhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhrrrrr
I spun around. There it was again, but I still couldn't see anything. Whatever or whoever making that sound didn't want to be seen. I stood up taller and furrowed my brows trying to look powerful, I needed to be intimidating, I needed to get home and I needed to get rid of anything or anypony who was in my way.
"H-hello?" I called out. "Whoever's out there show yourself! I'm... uuumm... very dangerous yes very dangerous! I have.... a crate!"
I sighed.
Good job Gloria, I have a crate? What kind of threat is that?
The breathing continued and I waited, I was growing more and more afraid every minute but I held my ground I wasn't about to run away, I wasn't about to turn tail and flee, I was going to fight and I was ready, but then amongst the breathing I could hear hoofsteps coming closer and suddenly a figure detached itself from the shadow. A tall unicorn walked towards me his eyes gleamed green and when he passed under the remaining moonlight that still shone down from the star speckled sky I instantly knew who he was.
Queen Sunbeam fell to the ground in exhaustion, her body was growing weak and her magic along with it and she watched in anguish, unable to fight back, as Time Warper stepped forward.
"Are you done yet?" he asked slyly. "You know you can't win and that I will destroy you and your entire kingdom right?"
"No- I-won't... let-you!" she struggled to speak and the effort pained her.
"Ha! Look at you! You can barely talk let alone fight me!" Time Warper laughed as she tried to get up and failed.
"Even if... you do defeat me... you'll... have to defeat Gloria... before you can... truly win!" she grew weaker with the effort of speaking.
"Oh I've already taken care of her." he replied. "I've got one of my best soldiers on the way right now! I want to destroy you Sunbeam and Gloria and the entire pony race I want to be king!"
"W-why?" she asked.
"Why? WHY? Because I want my life back! That's why!" he shouted. "But you took it from me!"
"I-know—you... want her... but she's gone! You have to... stop-this, you-can't... bring her b-back... power or-no power... she's gone! This magic took you... turned you evil—I... had to kill her... to-make sure... you didn't..... win!" Sunbeam admitted.
"Who says I won't now? You? You're weak, almost destroyed, you're in pain! So I'm going to make sure you don't have to feel it anymore!" his horned glowed green as he spoke and Sunbeam watched in horror as he got closer. "I'm going to send you back in time and you can tell me I can't win when you see all of El Turnia under my command!"
Sunbeam watched in silence no words to describe how she felt as she was lifted up and thrown into the whirling void of time.
"Father!" I yelled and as he stepped forward relief washed over me and I felt finally safe, but I shouldn't have.
Because when he looked at me I saw that his eyes were no longer his own, they glowed golden and veins of the same color pulsed out from them and I almost screamed, but held it in.
He's been taken over!
He walked towards me, his face was blank and showed no sign of emotion, he didn't seem to recognize me.
"F-father?" I asked. "What happened to you?"
He didn't answer, just continued to get closer and closer. Then when he was less than a foot away he finally spoke.
"You will come with me." He said in a loud voice that wasn't his. "Time Warper is waiting for you!"
