"I can't believe it," Georgina said excitedly, "Viktor Krum is at Hogwarts, maybe I'll ask him to go to Hogsmeade." Kat and I looked at each other confused, "is no boy at Hogwarts good enough for you?" I asked Georgina. She scoffed at this comment, "Please, I'd date my family's house-elves before even considering any of these boys." Kat leaned close to my ear, "I have some evidence that may say otherwise."

We walked to the Slytherin table, the Beauxbatons had decided to sit at the Ravenclaw table and the Durmstrang had decided on the Slytherin. I took a seat next to Kat and Georgina sat across from us, "Is this seat taken ," an unfamiliar voice said to me, I turned around to see a very handsome Durmstrang boy behind me. Draco had sat next to me every night at dinner these last few nights, but I had to be welcoming to our new guests.

"No, take a seat and welcome to Hogwarts," I patted the seat next to me, "Thank you." Draco took a seat next to Blaise across from the Durmstrang boy, his face filled with annoyance. "My names Brooks, and you are?" his Bulgarian accent was thick but soft, "Amelia, Amelia Potter-" "Potter, as in?" I stuck my hand out, "he's my brother," Brooks shook my hand.

We started talking and out of the corner of my eye I could see Draco not touching his food or talking. "Blimey mate, check out that girl," Blaise said nudging Draco's shoulder. I turned around, a very beautiful blonde girl was walking past us. Kat dropped her fork and gulped, "Keep it in your pants Zabini," I said glaring at him. I felt bad for Kat, Blaise knew how undeniably in love she was with him and he used that to his advantage.

Draco didn't take his eyes off of mine, "she's alright," he said in a rather uninterested tone. "So Miss Potter, this castle is rather large, maybe you could give me a tour?" Brooks said to me, Draco was now glaring. "I can do that," I said with a smile, Draco's lip curled and he raised his eyebrows. "Rosier," he said looking at Georgina, "I wouldn't mind if you introduced me to your French cousin." Blaise patted his back approvingly, jealousy filled my body, he knew what he was doing. Draco turned to face me, he had the cockiest smirk I had ever seen.

We ate the delicious feast, Brooks was rather charming and I rather enjoyed talking to him. We were finishing dessert when a brunette girl who bore a striking resemblance to Georgina approached our table.  "Ambrose," Kat said with a sarcastic excitement, "Hello Georgina" Ambrose said, "it's so nice to see you and your school, it's so, whats the word- Rustic." They had a rather awkward hug but before she could leave, Ambrose decided she wanted to meet all of us.

She went through us rather quickly, but saved Draco for last. "Draco Malfoy," he said reaching across the table to shake her hand, "Ambrose Monet." Their hands lingered on each others for a few extra seconds, "If you ever need anyone to show you around Ambrose, don't be afraid to reach out." Draco was talking to Ambrose but his eyes were locked on mine, "You should get back to your seat," Georgina said to Ambrose,"I think Dumbledore is going to speak."

The golden plates were wiped clean and Dumbledore stood up. "The moment has come," said Dumbledore, smiling around at the sea of upturned faces. "The Triwizard Tournament is about to start. I would like to say a few words of explanation before we bring in the casket- just to clarify the procedure that we will be following this year. But first, let me introduce, for those who do not know them,Mr. Bartemius Crouch, Head of the Department of InternationalMagical Cooperation" — there was a smattering of polite applause — "and Mr. Ludo Bagman, Head of the Department ofMagical Games and Sports." The two men waved politely.

"Mr. Bagman and Mr. Crouch have worked tirelessly over the last few months on the arrangements for the Triwizard Tournament," Dumbledore continued, "and they will be joining myself,Professor Karkaroff, and Madame Maxime on the panel that will judge the champions' efforts."At the mention of the word "champions," the attentiveness of the listening students seemed to sharpen. Perhaps Dumbledore had noticed their sudden stillness, for he smiled as he said,  "As you know, three champions compete in the tournament," Dumbledore went on calmly, "one from each of the participating schools. They will be marked on how well they perform each of the Tournament tasks and the champion with the highest total after task three will win the Triwizard Cup. The champions will be chosen by an impartial selector: the Goblet of Fire."

Dumbledore now took out his wand and tapped three times upon the top of the casket. The lid creaked slowly open. Dumbledore reached inside it and pulled out a large, roughly hewn wooden cup. It would have been entirely unremarkable had it not been full to the brim with dancing blue-white flames.Dumbledore closed the casket and placed the goblet carefully on top of it, where it would be clearly visible to everyone in the Hall."Anybody wishing to submit themselves as champion must write their name and school clearly upon a slip of parchment and drop it into the goblet," said Dumbledore. "Aspiring champions have twenty-four hours in which to put their names forward. Tomorrow night, Halloween, the goblet will return the names of the three it has judged most worthy to represent their schools. Good night to you all!"

"Well good night Amelia Potter," Brooks said to me before following his fellow Durmstrang students back to the ship. "Sleep well," I said, right when he left I cupped my face in embarrassment. "Sleep well," I said to Kat and Georgina, "why would I say that, he probably thinks I'm a loser." Kat and Georgina reassured me that I was fine and Brooks really was interested in me as we made our way back to the Slytherin common room.

We entered the common room, "you two go on up, I'll catch up," I said to Kat and Georgina. Draco was sitting alone on the corner chair, "good night Draco," I said, "Where do you think you're going Potter," he said getting up from the chair. "Bed" I responded, "not before you apologize to me," he said as he took a step closer. "I'm not your girlfriend-" "yet," he interrupted, taking another step closer to me. "Care to bet on that," I said further closing the gap between us. Draco raised his eyebrows, "I actually would Potter, you kiss me and you have to become my official girlfriend-" "and what if you kiss me?" I asked, he moved a piece of my hair from my face, "I would do whatever you want."
