Chapter 72 - Downfall

(Author's Note: Oh boy, here we go. Only one chapter left until we catch up with the manga, I should've slowed down the writing a bit, but I just couldn't hold myself, these chapters are so hype, I'm sure you guys feel the same way. So yeah, now that we're here, I have no choice but to enter a hiatus until the manga develops more, BUT! "I want you to teach Atsuhito Flashfire Fist..."

"Shotooo! You shouldn't talk about our secret technique as if it were something so casual!"

"Flashfire Fist?" Kaito wondered. "You used that technique in Kyushu, right?"

"It's a technique I've developed. It raises my firepower to it's maximum temperature. You mentioned you could increase your steam's temperature too, right? So I can see how Shoto thought you could learn."

"You think I can?"

"We'll see. Until now I've only passed this technique down to Shoto and..." Endeavor looked down. "Toya..." he stopped to ponder on that for a second. "I can't say if it's even going to work..."

"It's worth a try..." Shoto insists. "Atsuhito has better control over his quirk than even I have."

"Your steam has another layer of power, it's pressure. Combining all these elements, your training, and you'll get..."

"Flashfire Steam - Afterburner!"

Kaito blasted the villains in a concentrated infernal beam of steam! In this state, his steam is practically invisible, a result from reheating the already boiling hot steam, no, more like, SUPERHEATING it, thus the name Afterburner, also it's a reference to Jet Burn.

"Flashfire?!" Dabi was caught by surprise hearing those words, on top of that the attack is almost invisible. "Compress, get down!"

The villain then countered the steam blast with his blue flames again, to Kaito's surprise, he was holding his Afterburner back, as if he had just used an attack on the same level as his own!

"What the?! I managed to overpower Endeavor with this move, how is this guy holding me back?"

Kaito recalled something he heard from the No. 1 during his one week of training.

"Toya had flames even stronger than my own."

"No, he can't be!" The Steam Powered Hero recollected himself again. "Fine! You can hold back one attack! How about this!"

While maintaining his Afterburner holding Dabi back, Kaito aimed his fingers at the villain, as well as his greaves's thrusters, on top of that, his elbow thrusters assumed a new configuration pointing forward.

"Steam Powered BROADSIDE SALVO!"

Again, with the power of a BATTLESHIP, with the force of FOURTEEN naval guns, he blasted the monstrous villain down into Yaoyorozu's trap.

As soon as the monster begun to sink in the mud, the students jumped into action, using Mineta's balls, Shiozaki's vines, and everything at their disposal to pin the monster down.

Kaito noticed his friends in the line of fire, so he ceased his attack to not hit anybody, maintaining only his Afterburner to keep Dabi occupied.

Shoji, Ojiro, Aoyama and Jiro were the first to jump on the back of the monster, Dabi kept holding the steam attack back with just one hand, and with the other blasted the students away, hitting Jiro's earphone jacks with his flames, and distracting Kaito in the process.
