Todoroki was the first to act, he sent an ice attack, as always, Kaito dodged by jumping over the ice, blasting his steam thrusters he flew towards Todoroki, rapidly closing the distance.
"W-woah. He's closing in?" Sero was surprised. "Isn't Atsuhito more like a long distance fighter?"
"That's the strong point in Atsuhito's quirk." Tokoyami remarked." He can adapt his fighting style." He remembered the villain attack at USJ where they fought together.
"Atsuhito doesn't have the advantage in long distance, Todoroki can always block his steam blasts with his ice. That's why Atsuhito is closing in." Midoriya commented.
Todoroki kept pressing on the attack, Kaito dodged with no problem his ice attacks. Finally he was close enough to attack. Kaito delivered a punch, Todoroki was barely able to dodge it, scratching his cheek. Kaito kept on with a barrage of punches, Todoroki dodged them by a hair.
Finally, Todoroki managed to grab Kaito's arm.
"Those are some good moves, but not good enough."
Todoroki's ice froze half of Kaito's body in an instant. "I've been only showing ranged attacks today. You forgot I could do precision moves too."
"What? Is it over?" Present Mic wonders.
"I was hoping you would do that." Said Kaito. "I had a plan, a risky plan, and needed to test it. It worked." Suddenly, Todoroki's ice started melting rapidly.
"W-what?!" Todoroki was surprised seeing that.
"Ha haa!" Kaito broke free from the ice!
"Whaaaaaat?!" The entire class was surprised.
"How did he do that? How did he managed to break that much ice?" Kaminari wondered.
"His steam..." Midoriya spoke up. The class paid attention. "Atsuhito is able to increase the temperature of his steam. He melted the ice that way."
"In another turnabout of events, Atsuhito is back in the fight!" The crowd goes wild.
"Let's do this!" Kaito goes back to the offensive. At close quarters, there isn't much Todoroki can do besides dodge and try to make some distance. He goes for another freezing attack, but Kaito's steam just melts the ice before it could do anything.
"You're persistent, I'll give you that!" Todoroki recognized while dodging the attacks as best as he could.
"Well, I've got a lot of people believing in me right now." The Steamboy pressed on the attack.
Todoroki raises ice spikes, Kaito has no choice but to dodge.
Todoroki continues with his ice attacks.
"Damn it. Now he's alert of my strategy. I won't be able to close in as easily. I have to think of something new... I know!"
Kaito dodged the ice the same way as before, by jumping over it.
"The same trick won't work on me twice!" Todoroki got ready to counter again.
"This one's new!" Kaito gathered his steam on the palms of his hands, when he landed he blasted the steam creating a cloud bigger than the ones before, almost covering all the ring.
"What? I can't see anything! What's happening?"
"He can do that? That's crazy!" Kaminari comments.
