Big changes coming up soon? (Not a chapter)

Hello there, everyone!

As you may know, it's not normal for me to upload a chapter that isn't an actual chapter, I usually make announcements either in an actual chapter or through my profile. But this time, I want the message to reach everyone, because it's very important.

With that out of the way, without further ado, let's get to the point.

A few chapters ago, that being a little over two months ago, I first spoke about how I wasn't having fun writing my story anymore. That's still the cold, hard truth.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I always hated writing in this particular style, that being the reader insert part. That's how I started, that's how I built my story, and if anything, all the reads and votes my story has gotten over these past 2 years has been because of the reader insert part, not because of my writing.

But that's exactly where I have a problem. I already said this a couple of times, I don't feel like my story is appreciated because of what I do, but because of how I did it. That's the thought that has plagued me for some time now. It also doesn't help how sometimes you're writing another chapter and you get a comment such as "I don't like this", "I wouldn't do that", "why didn't you do this", etc... stuff like that might seem small, but after a while, it's starts to get to you.

I have to thank every single one of you who has assured me that you're in here because of my writing, because of my story, not because it's a popular style of writing, those comments always meant the world to me, and it's through those comments, and a little bit of convincing by my friends, that I decided to change.

Starting today, The Steam Powered Hero will no longer be a reader insert story. It will become an OC story.

Like I said, I thought a lot about this, and after a little bit of convincing from my closest friends, they also felt like that was the best choice for me.

"How long will it take for me to edit everything. And when will you start?"

I'm not sure how long it will take, between me barely having time to write because of college and work, it will take a while. I'm not starting anytime soon, that's for sure. But every time I can edit, I will.

"But if your story is over 130 chapters long, it's too late to change now."

I kinda agree with that one, if my story was around 30 chapters long, that wouldn't be a problem at all, but it's still something I'm willing to do in order to enjoy writing it again. A giveaway that my story has officially changed will be a new chapter with the new style and the addition of a BIO chapter at the start of my story.

"You just wrote a reader insert to boost your reads now you're changing."

That was never my goal, at all. At the beginning, reader insert stories were, and still are, very popular on Wattpad, I just went with what everyone was going for. Now, I'm seeing lots of authors changing their stories to OC, to have more freedom to write.

This was a very difficult choice for me to make, and I'm still not entirely sure about it. Maybe I'll delete this chapter and just keep writing like always, not changing my story at all, but right now, I feel like I should at least tell everyone about it, hear your thoughts about it, and reach a definitive decision. Decide the future of my story.

That's why it's very important for me if you could leave your thoughts in the comments. Be honest. No holding back. If you think I'm a jerk for even thinking about that, go ahead and led me know it. If you're fine with my decision and will support me through this change, I'll be happy to hear that too.
