Yeah. This is happening.

Hello there, everyone!

Let me just go ahead and start by saying I'm sorry for taking so long to write another chapter! I'd go into details, but I'm sure you're not interested in that right now, just in the new chapter, so I'll keep this introduction short and sweet and go into more details in the next one.

This will be a shorter chapter as I'm not 100% in the zone yet, so my writing will most likely be sloppy for a whole until I find the groove again. Hopefully I'll have another chapter, or lots of chapters sooner rather than later. So for now, I hope you enjoy this small chapter written by a washed off author!

As always, kisses, and I'll see you in the next one!

"Warning! Vital signs critical!" Blared the battle damaged support items.

His breathing slowing down.

His eyes that once carried the bright light of stars themselves, now fading away as life begins to leave his chest.

His heart, once beating ferociously with the might of a battleship, now beating ever so slowly, struggling to keep the hero alive.

It seemed to be his end. Kaito knew that. Countless times he heard, he was warned to not push his own limits, but how can he hold back considering the fate of all is at risk.

Going all out, giving his own life in the process, all for the sake of the greater good. It almost seemed cheap in his mind.

Maybe it was just his mind playing tricks, after all, he's far from stable right now. But from the corner of his eyes he could see a figure looking down at him. It didn't take a second to recognize himself. Maybe he was really losing it.

A young Kaito. No older than 7 years old. He smiled looking at his future self.

"Did we do it?" He asked. "Do we become a great hero?"

Kaito smiled back, or tried to in his struggle.

"No..." He answered. "We became the strongest."

Finally accepting his fate, closing his eyes, his last thoughts of everything he held dear.

The end...

Or is it?

The elevator lead downstairs, right below the battlefield, where Hatsume, Power Loader and Yaoyorozu worked together to keep the floating arena trap working properly, replacing every damaged piece of equipment to make sure Shigaraki had absolutely no advantage whatsoever.

The platform Kaito laid on took him to a couple of robots who quickly grabbed him, turning into a stretcher to swiftly carry the hero over to the others.

"Kaito!" Hatsume quickly ran over. With tearful eyes she looked at the state he was. "We need to take him over to the tank! Hurry!" She ordered the robots.

"Shouldn't we take him to Recovery Girl instead?!" Questioned Yaoyorozu.

"There's no time! I need you to buy me as much time as you can! Leave this to me!"
