Chapter 22 - U.A Sports Festival - Round 2

Todoroki did not waste any time, he immediately fired a ice attack towards Midoriya, but Midoriya stopped the ice with a flick of his finger, sending a powerful shockwave, breaking the ice and almost sending Todoroki out of bounds.

"Oh, no! Crap! I'm missing it!" Kirishima returned.

"Hey, nice job making to the second round, Kirishima." Kaminari praised.

"Thanks, man. Looks like I'll take down Bakugo next."

"I'll kill you." Bakugo promised. Still focused on the fight.

"Heh, yeah, sure, in your dreams." Kirishima continued. "But seriously, it's crazy how you and Todoroki both have moves that blast the whole stadium. Must be pretty nice."

"Plus, you don't have to pause between attacks." Sero added.

"It's not as easy as you think, morons. If you overuse your muscles, you risk tearing them apart, if you sprint too much you run out of breath. Quirks are physical abilities too, they can get worn out, you can't just use them nonstop."

"Well I'll be dammed. Bakugo talking rationally?" Kaito remarked, Bakugo glared at th Steamboy for a second before focusing on the fight again.

The boys laughed.

"Makes sense when you put it that way. I wonder if that's how Midoriya thinks he's gonna beat Todoroki." Kirishima wondered.

"Looks like this will be a endurance match." Kaito commented.

Midoriya continued to counter Todoroki's attacks sending shockwaves with his fingers. Todoroki used his ice to close in, Midoriya managed to dodge and counter with a attack stronger than the ones before, Todoroki's ice is the only thing preventing him from being flying out of the ring.

Todoroki invested in close combat combined with his ice, to his surprise, Midoriya managed to connect a punch to his guts!

"A solid punch! That's the kind of action I like to see!"

"Hey, he got a hit in!" Kirishima cheered. "But something seems strange about Todoroki."

"His moves... Check it out." Kaito pointed out. "He's getting covered in ice, maybe there's a drawback to his quirk after all."

"Wouldn't his fire negate this?"

"I wonder." Kaito looked thoughtful. "What's in your mind, Todoroki?"

"I'll surpass you!" Midoriya landed another punch, stunning the icy-hot, and the crowd too, sending him back. "It's yours! Your quirk, not his!"

Kaito looked surprised hearing that.

Todoroki stopped for a moment, as if he was thinking about something, absorbing Midoriya's words perhaps? Suddenly, Todoroki's flames rose from his left side.

Present Mic gasped. "Is that?"

"He's using his fire!" Iida pointed out.

The heat was intense enough to reach the stands, all of the students, but Atsuhito were affected by it, trying to protect themselves and their eyes from the bring flames.
