one hundred thirty two

today was halloween.

actually gwen loves this day. when she was younger she always went as a princess or fairy or cat.

this year is piper's first one.

piper will go as a strawberry. gwen already knew that she'll be adorable.

hailey wants to go as a fairy but unfortunately one off her wings is damaged.

so gwen was lucky when she met mark after one off her surgeries.

"morning." he greets his wife.

they hadn't talked that much. only about the kids and work.

"oh, good. can you take these?" gwen asks giving him the pink wings. "there's a rip in the bottom left. i just finished an valve replacement, and i was going to do it in the 20 minutes before my next surgery but then my patient coded."

"well, i need to operate on a patient in a few minutes. then avery and i have another surgery." mark explains.

"okay, well, this will only take you four minutes." gwen says.

"i know." mark nods smiling. "i'm just telling you about my day."

"oh, well, i did not factor that into my schedule." gwen chuckle as they reached the nurses station. "and trick-or-treating still on tonight?"

"of course, of course." mark replies before walking away.

derek who stood at the nurses station had watched the whole scene.

"hey, i talked to mark this morning. everything okay with the two of you?" derek asks his sister.

"we just had a fight." gwen shrugs. "it was stupied and nothing."

"really? he had to sleep on the couch." derek reminds her.

"because i was mad. and when i'm mad i say and do things that are terrible." gwen sighs rubbing her forehead.

"have you talked to him about it?" derek asks.

but gwen only shoke her head.

"you should do that." derek advises before walking away.

in the same time meredith walked up walking behind the counter gwen leaned on.

"alex, did you get the house ready?" she asks him as he walked by.

"yep." he replied.

"okay. candy?" she asks.

"no."

"did you get the pumpkins?" meredith asks.

"no."

"did you put up the spider webs?"

"no."

"then how is the house ready?"

"i got the keg." alex shrugs after walking away.

"oh, you're having a party at the house?" cristina suddenly asks next to gwen.

"um.. yeah. alex is letting us use the house to trick-or-treat from, because we have no neighbours where we are, so i invited a bunch of families from the daycare." meredith explains. "he didn't tell you?"

"no." cristina only responds.

"oh, you should come." gwen smiles looking at meredith for approving.

"it's fine." cristina shrugs.

"right. well, you don't wanna be around a bunch of kids hopped-up on sugar anyway, right?" meredith asks cristina.
