"we could stay in bed the day." mark suggest.

"no. derek asks me to help him with a patient." gwen says.

"oh that's too bad." mark smirks.

"but i wanted to take a shower. you wanna join?" she says and kisses him.

gwen stood together with derek, meredith and alex in jen's room. derek had operated on her aneurysm but there were complications so he had to operate again.

"the lack of blood flow is causing the mini-strokes and aphasia." derek explains jen and her husband rob. "we can't put the surgery off any longer. i'll do a repair called an ec-ic bypass."

"and that will fix the strokes? she'll be better after this?" rob asks derek.

"i'm hoping it will work, yes." derek nods.

"but..." jen stammers. because of the surgery she couldn't speak well anymore.

"they wouldn't operate unless it were safe for the baby. dr.shepherd?" rob asks looking at gwen.

"yeah, your blood pressure's high, but that's why i'll be there to monitor both you and the baby." gwen tells them.

"get some rest. we'll see you soon." derek says as the doctors left the room.

but derek and gwen got hold up by rob.

"i know what we said before about the baby, but if something should happen, if it comes down to a choice, save my wife. we can make another baby. we can't make another her." rob tells them.

gwen walked through the hospital when mark called her.

"good morning, dr.shepherd." he greets her giving her a cup of coffee.

"aww. thanks for the coffee." gwen smiles taking a sip. "what do you want?"

"why do i have to want something? can't i just bring my girlfriend some coffee?" mark asks her.

"you can. but i work her for a long time now and you never brought me coffee. so i just assume." she says smirking.

"i mean, if that was an offer i would love to continue what we started in the shower this moring." he smirks.

"i would love that too but i have a surgery." gwen dismisses him.

"okay. but later?" he asks hopeful.

"yeah." she nods.

"great. now be a badass surgeon, baby." he tells her before he kissed her.

"i will. see you later." gwen said with furrowed brows.
