"hailey please put on your shoes." gwen tells her daughter who sat on the floor with her arms crossed.

hailey was a little stubborn these days and tried everything to make gwen and mark go crazy.

"no." hailey replies.

"come on, put on your shoes so mommy can dress your sister, all right?" gwen suggests but failed.

hailey shakes her head before stomping away.

gwen sighs sitting down on the couch.

"mommy, my shoes." piper says walking up to her mom.

"thanks baby. come on, mommy helps you with them." gwen smiles putting the pink sneakers on.

"the shoes again?" mark asks stepping into the room.

"hmm." gwen nods picking up piper.

"i'll take care of that." mark assures her.

"that would be nice because i have a big surgery with arizona today." gwen says giving piper to mark.

"how's it going with the fellowship?" mark asks walking over into the kitchen to open the fridge with one hand to get a water bottle.

"it's okay." gwen shrugs putting on her jacket.

"if it's too much you can stop this. you look exhausted and sick." mark says.

"thanks." gwen says sarcastically with an eye roll.

"that's not what i meant. you look great but you look like you need a break." mark clarifies.

"i don't." gwen states.

she kissed him and piper. "tell hailey i love her and that i hope she has a good day. bye."

then she left.

"this is waldo pfeiffer, gestational age 23 weeks." gwen presents arizona as they stood in a radiology room looking at some images. "in addition to an incredibly unfortunate first name, waldo's dealing with a particularly nasty ccam. tell me what ccam stands for." she instructs arizona looking at her with folded arms.

"congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation." arizona replies. "the mass is pressing on his heart and lungs."

"waldo's ccam has been unresposive to steroid treatment." gwen continues. "now he's developing hydrops. this is what fetal surgery was created for. first, we're gonna open up the mother, then incise the uterus, then we're gonna remove the ccam and put him right back where we found him, and hopefully he'll be carried to term. you have a consultation in 20 minutes. make it fast, get back here, and we're going to go over this procedure step by step."

"terrific. thank you." arizona smiles.

"well, don't thank me." gwen cuts her off. "i decided it was necessary when it took you two months to wrap your head around a fetal valvuloplasty." she mocks arizona who's smile fainted. "you ready for this?"

"yes. yes, absolutely." arizona assures her.

gwen grabbed herself a cup of coffee at the coffee chart outside the hospital.

"dr.pierce." gwen greets her when she saw her walking by. "how's your week so far?"

"good, great. thanks for asking, dr.shepherd." maggie replies with a smile.

"i heard that you wanted to quit?" gwen asks.
