gwen stood before the o.r board with several staff members. mark and richard stood at the board. gwen was just there watching marks little 'presentation' because he asked her.

"how bad is it today?" derek whisper/asks his sister as he approached her.

"the chief's implementing a computer model for scheduling our surgeries from now on." gwen explains him. "something about efficiency and progress."

"to make shure this was the right decision, i have enlisted one of our own to do a trial run for the last month. dr.sloan?" richard turns to the plastic surgeon.

"i know what you're all thinking. it's a machine. it doesn't know me, doesn't know what i like." mark says as derek stepped forward. "but after using this new system for the past month, i gotta say, people, i'm a convert. this computer knows me better than i know me."

"chief, this thing's rearranged my whole schedule for the entire week." derek turns to richard before turning to the crowd. "i mean, haven't we had enough change here already?"

"change is good, people." richard assures his staff. "embrace it."

then everyone walked into differrent directions.

"you two need to stop bickering. it's unattractive." gwen tells her brother before walking away with mark.

"and how did you find it?" mark asks.

"i'll be honest, because i love you. it wasn't necessary." gwen sighs making mark stop smiling. "i mean you just showed a new computer or something. i would rather stayed in bed."

"we could go to bed now, if you know what i mean." mark smirks.

"i can't i have surgeries." she smiles kissing his cheek and walking away.

later that day gwen looked at the scans from derek's inoperable tumor as derek walked into the room as well.

"everyone said you'd found the great white of tumors, but i just had to see it for myself." gwen says looking at the scans.

"and now that you have?" derek asks.

"you want my surgeon answer, my attending answer or my sister answer?" gwen asks him.

"surgeon answer." derek replied.

"this tumor is dangerous, complicated, smart, beautiful. this tumor is the reason i got into medicine in the first place. to successfully take out this tumor would be an achievement you could hang your hat on for the rest of your career. you could retire on this tumor." gwen smiles.

mark and gwen walked up to the nurses station the next day to see derek writing in a chart.

"word on the o.r floor is that you've gone rogue." gwen smirks as she stands next to her brother leaning on the counter.

"i'm doing a surgery i fully believe in." derek looked at the two.

"to piss off the chief." mark states.

"when did richard become your bff?" derek chuckles not looking up from the chart.

"he's not my bff. he's the chief." mark corrects.

"for now." derek mumbles as arizona and callie walked up to them.

"you going rogue?" callie asks the same question as gwen.

"i'm doing a surgery i believe in." derek repeats the same answer.
