gwen was in the hospital all morning watching jane doe.

right now she stood at the nurses station, with a coffee in her hands and mark standing next to her.

"how was your day?" he asked knowing she was here the whole morning.

"i'm good." she answered as a cute nurse walk by.

she looked at mark flirtatious who looked back at her.

"i thought we had a deal?" gwen reminded him about the 60 days without sex.

"we agreed i wouldn't sleep with anybody, never said i wouldn't look." he tries to defend himself. she looked at him amused. "you didn't think i'd hold out?"

"no i didn't." she tells him honestly while laughing.

"you're worth it." he said.

"you bet your ass i am." she chuckles.

then she walked away.

mark was in the o.r operating on jane doe because she needs a surgery on her eye. alex assistet him.

"suction." mark said to alex. "no. not like you're driving a tractor, slowly. better."

"what's the chance she wakes up and remembers?" alex asks his attending.

"i wouldn't count on it." mark dismisses.

"the baby's having decels." alex informed him after looking at the fetal monitor.

"you sure? sometimes when the monitor's not on, you get a false read." mark says.

"she got vaginal bleeding, baby's in distress." alex discovers after he looked under the blanket.

"damn it. page dr. shepherd, now!" mark shouts.

after gwen got the page she operated on jane doe. after they were done she stormed out of the o.r mark and alex following her.

"you couldn't have waited one day?" she asked annoyed.

"she was 40% vision compromised, her right eye would have been gone by tomorrow." he raised his voice.

"no, it wouldn't actually! but there's a new chief candidate marching around the hall today and you needed to be a hero." she yelled. "that's what happened!"

mark and gwen never really fight or scream at each other but when they fight they fight loud.

"the patient was fine gwen. the baby is still in her uterus and she is not losing an eye!" he yelled loud. "every surgery is risky, the patient chose this one."

"karev!" she yelled. "don't just stand there. the patients baby was in distress. go, stay with her."

at that moment derek walked up to them.

"something happened with jane doe?" derek asked concerned why his sister yelled so loud.

"yes, she can see and gwen's got a problem with it." mark replied.

"he rushed her into surgery and she almost lost the baby." she shouts. "i had to sew her cervix shut."

"the complication had nothing to do with the surgery." mark said still loud.

"why? why did you think mark moved so quickly, derek?" she asked her brother who was on her side obviously. "because of a piece of orbital bone that was floating towards the brain?"
