Chapter 32

“Lexi wake up” Jared whispered in her ear.

“Ahhh” Lexi yelled. She could not see Jared anywhere. She was a rock like room.

“What happen?” Jared asked, she felt him behind her leaning on her back.

“Something poke my lower back” Lexi explained

“Oh that was my sword hand it to me” Jared told her

“You get it lazy” Lexi refused

“I would if my hands weren’t tide or if we were not tied together” Jared said.

“Did you just try to get up?” Jared asked when he felt a tug on his stomach

“Maybe” Lexi admitted

“Would you stop playing and try to get it” Jared told her

“Hold on” Lexi told him. Re reached from her left. She could feel the sword in the tips of her fingers. She stretched until she finally had her hand wrapped around sword. She pulled it and out came a thin sword

“Hand it to me” Jared ordered her

“Hold on” Lexi told him cutting her rope around her wrist firsts. Then she cut the rope around her legs and lastly the rope around her stomach that tied her and Jared together.

“There” Lexi said getting up to her feet

“Mind handing me the sword now?” Jared asked

“Oh sorry” she apologized and went over to his side and cut the rope in his feet then the one on his wrists

“Thanks” Jared rubbed his wrists where the rope was tied

“So where are we?” Lexi asked as she looked around. The floor was covered in plants and dirt. It smelled moldy and old. They could hear water dripping somewhere but it wasn’t bright enough to see where the water was dripping from.

“I have no idea; do you have a bobby pin?”  Jared asked her as he inspected the lock on the door

“Why would I be carrying a bobby pin with me?” Lexi leaned against the wall

“Cause you a girl” he said matter of factly

“And?” she raised and eyebrow

“Everyone knows girls wear bobby pins” Jared stated

“Sorry but I have not yet gotten that memo” Lexi told him

“Fine not every girl has a bobby pin so how do you suggest we get out of here?” he asked

“What am I suppose to know” Lexi looked around the room to see what could help them get out

“Your sword” Lexi pointed

“I know it is very pretty” Jared told her

“Sure, but we can use it to get out” Lexi told him

“Um no, it’s my favorite one” Jared disagreed

“Fine then lets just stay here and die, but it’s okay you know your sword will be okay” Lexi told him sarcastically

“Fine but you own me a new sword” Jared handed her the sword. Lexi took it and stared at the door

“So how you gonna open it?” Jared asked

“I have not yet gotten that far” Lexi admitted

“Someone is coming” Jared jumped on the wall adjacent to the door and then onto the door frame where he balanced himself and waited for the door to open. Lexi walked up to the door and stood in front of it. She clutched the sword tightly in her hands.

“What are you doing untied and where is the other one” the man looked around. Lexi only let him take two steps into the room before she jumped and kicked him in the face. While the man was in the floor she hit him with the back on the sword.

“You can come down” Lexi told him

“He was mine” Jared complained

“You can have the next one, I’m sure they will be more” Lexi peaked out.

“Put on his coat” Lexi order

“No, I’m okay with mine” Jared refused

“Cause seeing a guy with a black coat won’t be suspicious” Lexi told him

“Actually I won’t” Jared pointed out

“Actually you will cause everyone out here is wearing that brown coat” Lexi opened the door more so he could see

“Fine, but what about you?” he asked

“Oh I’ll get one in a bit” Lexi smirked

“No you said the next one was mine I’ll get you the coat, I’ll be back in a minute” Jared told her and stepped outside, closing the door behind him. Lexi waited for Jared to come back.

“Here you go” Jared handed her a coat

“Thank you” Lexi put it on

“You ready, lets go” Jared didn’t wait for Lexi to reply, he just walked out. Outside there was at least 20 guards each with the brown coat and a sword in their left hand. They were almost at the end of the cell room when a man blocked their way

“Who are you?” the man asked. Lexi looked at Jared, not knowing what to do.

“That coat looks too big for you young lady” the guard told her

“Not really” Lexi told him and looked down

“I have never seen sirens with blonde hair” the guard told them

“We dyed it last week, we lost a bet against some of our friends” Jared told the guard

“I don’t believe you” he snapped

“Then come with us and y friend will tell you he is the main floor” Jared told him

“Nice try young man but no” the guard began whistling and Jared and Lexi began walking toward the main floor unwillingly

“Jared what is going on?” Lexi asked scared

“We seem to found the sirens” Jared told her
