"You sure you want to leave this early" the old lady asked them looking out the window. The sun still hadn't started to come out.
"Yes, Lexi you should put on your weapons before we go" Jared handed Lexi her bag full of weapons. She pulled out a sword and started at it
"Do you know where that goes" Jared sat in the chair and stared at her
"Yes, it goes..." she drifted off
"You don't know do you?" Jared raised an eyebrow and started toward her
"No, Roxie always put them on for me" Lexi confessed
"Give" he extended his arm. Lexi handed him the sword. He took it and put it on her back with the strap across her chest. He took the other sword from the bag and put it on the opposite side creating an X on her back and in the front. He strapped a dagger in each of her shins, another in the left side of her waist, a last one on her right wrist. A star knife belt on both thighs. He hung a whip on the left side of her waist. He strapped a foldable bow on her left thigh under the star knife belt. Finally, a strap with unlimited arrows.
"There" Jared step back to inspect his work
"Let's go then" Lexi started to make her way toward the door
"Thank you so much" Jared told the old lady and followed Lexi out.
"Led the way" Lexi told him once he stepped outside
"You left your coat" Jared handed her the coat
"Thanks" she took it and put it on. They walked side by side.
"So were exactly are we going?" Lexi asked
"To the fire realm" Jared told her
"Oh, wait I thought it was impossible to get from one realm to another without a portal" Lexi remembered what she had learned. The realms were one next to the other, but you needed a portal to transport to it.
"It is" Jared confirmed
"Then how are we going to get there?" Lexi asked confused
"We are going to sneak into town and used the portal there" Jared told her
"Good luck to us, cause we really going to need it" Lexi whispered to herself
"As long as we keep or head down it will be okay" Jared told her
As they approached the town they realize that it was lonely. The stores, restaurants, and cafes were closed.
"Why is it so lonely?" Lexi wondered
"James took control of the town, a couple of days ago I heard that he put a high reward on you" Jared told her
"And you didn't tell me anything about this because?" Lexi asked
"Cause I thought we were going to be safe in the forbidding falls but they seemed to found you" Jared told her
"Hey, you two" a deep voice behind them called out.
"Yes" Jared answered without turning
"Where are you coming from?" the deep voice asked
"The outside the forest of the forbidding falls" Jared told him
"Everyone was sent to the siren castle why are you back?" the deep voice wondered
"We came back to tell Mr. Evans that they were spotted running toward the charmed lake" Jared lied
"Fine, then continue" the deep voice told them
"Thank you" Jared started to walk. They walked past closed business making their way toward the portal. As they were passing a café Lexi saw a poster in the window with her picture; it was a wanted poster under the wanted word in smaller word it said 'Dead or Alive' and under her picture it had the amount, her head cost 57,000 dollars. Jared ripped it off and teared it up into pieces.
"We should hurry up" Jared told her and continued to walk. Finally they had made it to the portal. Now the only thing standing between the portal and them was a tall glass door. Jared pulled out his dagger from his waist and inserted in between the door and the door frame, toying with the lock. With a loud click it opened. They stepped in cautiously and head toward the portal.
"Hold my hand so you won't get lost" Jared extended his hand
"Um I think I can manage this couple of steps from here to the portal without getting lost" Lexi continued
"I know you can, but this portal is different from the ones you have taken before, you have to picture where you want to go and since you have not gone to the fire realm" Jared told her
"Fine" she took his hand and they walked into the portal
"Don't think of anything" Jared told her
"Okay" she cleared her mind and waited. The place slowly began disappearing and its place the fire real appeared. This realm unlike the other three realms she had been on had very little light. It was warm and smelled of smoke. Everything seemed to be rocks with no life. Behind her a river of lava flowed by slowly. Something began coming out of the lava. A little hound emerged. Once he had all four paws on the floor he shook to take off the remaining lava on it. Lexi took a step back slowly. This caught the hound's attention and it started to walk toward her. Lexi stood as still as she could hoping it will leave.
"Jared, what do I do?" she asked. She turned her head in all directions but was unable to see him. The hound rubbed himself on her feet. She bend down and petted it. It licked her and laid on it back reveling its tummy. She scratch it and its tail wagged it seemed friendly.
"Hi little um you, I'm lost can you help me find my friend?" Lexi felt dumb asking the hound. The hound stared at her and barked. Lexi stood up and began walking in search of Jared. Behind her the hound followed. Lexi started to run and after she could not see the hound she slowed down. She finally lost it. She turned around and was unable to see the hound. She took a deep breath and turned back around to see the hound sitting in front of her.
"I guess you coming then" she petted its head and began walking around looking for Jared the hound waking closely behind her.
