Chapter 16

“I thought I made it clear not to go fight the creature?” Lilith asked

“No you said not that if it was any other watcher you would let them but not us cause I was the guardian, Jared the protector, Roxie and Noah the helpers and it was too risky, you never said to go to shore and not fight the creature” Lexi expressed. After the explosion of the creature Lexi, Jared, Noah, and Roxie were taken back to the cave.

“Did you need me to spell it out for you?” she asked

“You could have it would have been nice but I would still have not listened to you” Lexi told Lilith.

“You are so stubborn, but in a whole different subject thank you so much for destroying the creature” Lilith told her gratefully

“Know this is a much better subject and thank you, but we should probably get going” Lexi told her excusing herself.

“I’m so happy you are okay you had me so worried” Roxie told Lexi as soon as she stepped out of the main room. They were waiting for her to go home.

“What were you thinking, how did you even know where its weak spot was at?” Jared asked her surprised.

“I just couldn’t stand the fact that this people had to live in fear of that demon, and just knew something in my gut told me” she explained

“So we going home now, I’m starving” Noah asked them looking from one of their faces to the other.

“Yea” Lexi told him and started to walk toward the exit.

“I’ll make us some food when we get home” Roxie told them

“You know what I’m not actually that hungry” Noah announced

“Why don’t you ever want to eat the food I make?” Roxie asked

“It’s not that we don’t want to eat your food it’s just that you always make us food right after we ate so when you serve us we are full” Jared told Roxie.

“Would you like me to make you something to eat Lexi?” Roxie asked

“No you know she is probably in too much shock from all of this to eat” Jared answered for Lexi before she had time to answer for herself. Lexi wondered if Roxie’s food was really that bad.

“Butt of Jared I didn’t ask you” Roxie declared

“No it’s okay; I have way too much in my mind to eat” Lexi told her. In a way it was kind of true but she just didn’t want to try her food, if Noah and Jared stayed away from Roxie’s cooking so will she.

“I have an idea instead of you cooking Roxie why don’t we go to the Quake, to celebrate Lexi’s first kill” Noah implied

“That is a good idea and Roxie won’t have to work to make us dinner” Jared expressed as if that was the reason he wanted to go and not to get away from Roxie’s cooking

“Sure what do you think Lexi?” Roxie turned to ask her

“Yeah, sure” Lexi told her, while in her mind she kept on hearing a voice of a girl telling her he was coming. Who was coming though? They had reached the water and Jared was the first to throw himself into the water, followed by Roxie and then Noah.

“Good luck on your journey” one of the guards told her before she threw herself into the water. She swam downward toward the exit of the cave. She had barely reached the bottom of the sea and she needed oxygen she was not going to make it all the way up to the surface in time to get air she would probably would get lucky and make it about one fifth of the way up. She felt someone hug her from behind, she turned to see a sea Fay, the sea Fay waved one hand in front of Lexi’s face creating a bubble around her head. She took deep breaths to regain the oxygen she had lost, and then the sea Fay started to swim toward shore.
