Chapter 36

"You look very lovely" Axel told Lexi as she sat next to him and them added , "You too Roxie"

"Thank you" Roxie told him. Apparently Axel had sitting charts; his daughter/guardian (Lexi) had to always sit on his left, the protector (Jared) had to sit on his right in front of Lexi, and Roxie and Noah didn't have any assigned seats so he put Roxie next to Lexi and Noah next to Jared. They sat in silence looking at one another.

"Sir your guest are here" a lady told Axel

"Guest?" Lexi wondered

"Yea, you really think I'm going to celebrate that my daughter is back alone?" Axel asked Lexi

"Yeah that sounds like a better idea" Lexi told him

"Nonsense the bigger the better, the more people know the better" Axel said happily. People began walking in they all dressed in elegant clothes with jewels on their necklaces, their clothes, on the rings that were in every finger, on the earrings women wore, and on their hair accessories.

"Put on a smile" Axel whispered to Lexi. Lexi took a deep breath and put on a big smile.

"Is that her?" a lady asked Axel pointing at Lexi. Axel nodded

"She is so lovely" the lady pinched her cheeks

"Hello" Lexi said still with the fake smile on her face, she hated parties no matter how small they were she hated being around a lot of people.

"Hi. My. Name. Is. Mary." The lady told her

"You know I'm not deaf you can talk normal" Lexi told her

"Oh sorry" the lady told her. She gave Lexi's cheeks one more pinch then went to have a seat

"I'm glad you can all be her4e to celebrate this moment with me" Axel said out loud, then signaled the maids to bring out the food. They quickly placed the food in the middle of the table. And poured wine into all the glass goblets.

"To family" Axel toasted. Everyone raised their goblets to the sky before taking a sip. Then they began serving themselves. The plates of food that were in the middle of the table began rotating clockwise giving everyone a chance to get food. Throughout the entire dinner everyone ate and shared stories. Lexi listen as a lady was telling another lady about her son's first steps. Another lady bragged about her son slaying a goblin all by himself. A man bragged to the lady next to him about his demon collection; he had a hand of a high-warlock, dead skin of a Naga, a wand of a wizard, a heart and spike of an ark dragon, teeth of werewolves and well as vampire fangs, and his most prized possession was a scale of a sea serpent.

"Melvin how did you ever get possession of a sea serpent?" Axel wondered. The man that was bragging about his demon collection stopped blabbering and turned to face Axel.

"I found it a year ago at the bottom of the Enchanted Sea; it's quite a story" Melvin began, "You see my son and I went fishing and my sons favorite toy fell in and he begged me to go down and get it, I told him I'll just buy him a new one but he didn't want a new one he wanted the one that had sunken; so I get the oxygen tank that I was keep on the boat and dive for the toy. As I reach the floor I see something black and I go to see what it was I pick it up and it was up to my neck and I instantly knew it was a sea serpent's scale, I pulled up to surface along with my kids toy and since that day it has been in my collection" As he told his story he sounded so proud

"I have never seen a serpent's scale maybe one day I shall stop by your place to see it" Mary told Melvin

"You should it is something really amazing" Melvin told her

"That is nice I guess my daughter" Axel pouted toward Lexi "Slayed a sea serpent all by herself, and it was her first slayed"

"How did you do it?" everyone asked intrigued on her slay

"Um-" she looked at Jared then at Noah and finally at Roxie.

"It was no big deal" she told them

"No big deal, they are a red on the books" a man said

"Demons are classified with colors yellow means not so dangerous, orange means dangerous, and red means extremely dangerous" Jared explained

"Oh, well it was distracted chasing some sea Fay" Lexi told them

"Time for desert" Axel said before they could ask anymore questions. The maids once again came in and took the plates and replaced them with deserts; there everything from a huge cake to a chocolate fountain with strawberries around it, to candy, and to some weird yummy looking stuffs. As the night continued to pass they everyone continued bragging about what they had and other did not have. Finally, people began getting up and leaving. Little by little the celebration was over. Until finally, the last person left.

"Well that went well" Axel said getting up.

"We were wondering if we could stay for some days here?" Lexi asked

"Well of course it is your house you know?" Axel told her

"Right" Lexi had forgotten

"Patricia will you please take them to their rooms" Axel called a maid

"Yes sir" Patricia began walking toward their rooms. They followed her in silence. Roxie and Lexi were sleeping in one room and Jared and Noah were sleeping in the room next the girls. Lexi went to the dresser and took off her dress and changed into the pajamas that were left in the bed. She left the brochette on the jewelry box and threw her heels onto the sofa next to the bed. Roxie did the same. Roxie laid in the bed while Lexi sat crisscrossed taking in the room. It was huge with a dresser on the left, a head to toe mirror next to the dresser, a huge bed with soft silk covers, and a sofa to the right of the bed. The window had an amazing view of the waterfall. She laid down and closed her eyes and listened as the water fell down the waterfall and hit the river down below, it was relaxing. Then there was a soft knock on the door. Roxie got up and opened the door. Lexi could hear steps on the floor as they made their way toward the bed.

"You asleep Lexi?" She heard Noah's voice

"No" she replied not opening her eyes

"Did you have enough food?" Roxie asked

"Yes" Noah said happily

"Tonight was-" Jared stopped looking for the right word to use

"Boring" Lexi opened her eyes

"Not so much" Noah said

"Well you had food, it was horrible listening to all the people brag, I have here by now talked to all the strangers I was suppose to talk to in the year" Lexi told them

"They do brag a lot" Jared agreed

"Next time he has a celebration I'm going to hide" Lexi told them

"I have to be where you are at, what if a demon tries to attack you it's my duty as the protector to protect you" Jared told her

"And I have no idea why me or Noah will go but we will" Roxie said

"I will stay, it's okay" Noah pulled himself out of the plan

"Do you have something for a headache?" Lexi asked

"Um, try this" Roxie handed her a pill. Lexi putted in her mouth and swallowed it. After a couple of seconds all she could hear was Jared's and Roxie's voice and every once in a while Noah's voice but she could not make out what they were saying. She saw two Jareds and they each had four eyes, she blinked and when she opened her eyes she saw only one Jared with only two eyes then her vision began to blur, until everything went black.
