"Here we are" Jared announced
"Where exactly is here?" Lexi wondered. All she could see was rocks upon more rocks and little rivers of flowing lava but still no sight of life.
"The entrance to the underground villages" Jared explained. Before he could take another step, a creature 15 feet tall made out of lava and rocks on the surface stood before them. It roared and fire came out of its mouth. It was a lava lurker; Lexi had read all about it in the books back in Axel's house. Lava seemed to be leaking out of him through the cracks of the rocks. If it wasn't for the rocks it would have just been a puddle of lava with no shape. Jared stood in front of Lexi to shield her from the creature and drew out his sword. Before he could strike Duirel launched himself at the creature. He growled and bared its teeth at it. It had growled louder than it had at Jared. He ran around and bit here then there. Right before their eyes Duirel grew and grew until he was as tall as Lexi. One of its paws was wider than Jared and Lexi put together. Afraid of his size the lava lurker ran away. Duirel stood there looking at the creature as it ran away. He stayed in this form for a few more seconds before returning back to his normal three feet tall.
"By the look in your face I will say you didn't know he could do that" Lexi told him
"I knew they did that but those were the ancient ones they have never being seen doing that in a couple of millions of years" Jared explained in awe.
"He is special" Lexi told him
"He sure is, we should hurry up before some other creature comes" Jared moved a rock to the side and under it was a hole in that ground
"After you" Jared stepped aside
"Oh no I have seen this before, I'm going to go inside and get shrunken and then turn to a giant, and all the animals are going to talk, and I'm almost going to lose my head by an evil queen; no thank you" Lexi refused
"I don't know what type of hole you went into but this one is not like that" Jared was confused
"I didn't go into the hole, Alice from Alice in the wonderland did and it wasn't pretty" She explained
"Well if it makes you feel better no animals talk and there is no queen here, and it is impossible to get shrunken of turn to a giant unless you use magic but there are no warlocks here" Jared reassured her
"Sorry but still nope" She refused
"I promise you, and if you see just one animal talking then we'll leave" He promised
"Fine but you go first" She agreed
"See you down there" Jared jumped in and Duirel jumped in next. Slowly Lexi sat on the ground with her feet in the hole. She slid closer to the edge and leaned down to look inside. She lost her balance and fell in. She yelled as she slid down on her stomach. She landed on her stomach with a thump. She looked up and saw Jared standing with his hand extended and Duirel next to him. She refused her hand and stood up. She straighten herself while she dust away the dirt on her.
"Nice job at keeping a low profile" Jared told her. She looked around and saw the people staring at her weird. They were all dressed the same, in red leather. The women wore two crisscrossed pieces of leather on their bosoms that went around their neck and mini shorts that were connected to the top with a strand of leather across their stomach. On their right hand they wore a bracelet and an arm bracelet. On their left leg they wore a piece of leather that covered from the middle of the thigh to the bottom of their foot. On their feet they wore thicker leather shoes up to the ankles. The men only wore some short shorts; they were longer than the women's but still short. They also had the same shoes and an arm bracelet on their left hand.
Everything down here was lit with fire lanterns in the side of houses. The house were all made out of rock. One next to the other, hardly leaving any space in between them. Lexi took off the coat it was awfully cold down here.
"What do you want?" a man approached them
"Um we seek refuge" Jared explained, "Oh and don't worry the hellhound is with us it's harmless"
"Why should we help nephlim?"The man asked
"Cause she is the Guardian" Jared pointed at Lexi. The man looked at her up and down, wondering if to believe them or not.
