Chapter 11

“I’m the what?” Lexi asked confused

“The last known Guardian of the Secret door” Jared repeated himself

“What is that?” Lexi asked him

“Come into the training room it’s the only room with soundproof walls” Jared said motioning her to go into the training room

Lexi walked past him and into the room. This room was amazing it had fake swords in one side wall, in the middle it had four huge blue mats that covered most of the floor, in one corner it had a huge boxing bag, and hanging from the ceiling it had some ropes above the blue mats. Lexi sat on one of the blue mat and waited for Jared to lock the door.

“You haven’t told anyone else about seeing that door right?” Jared asked worried

“How could I have told anyone I have been with you most of the time” Lexi told him

“Okay just making sure nobody knew that you were the Guardian” Jared told her

“Why can’t anyone know about it?” Lexi asked confused

“A long time ago a mad scientist made a weapon to kill all non-nephilim but turned out that once activated it literally got rid of all non-nephilim including humans so a secret door was made to prevent it from falling to the wrong hands and the first five Guardians were born along with their five protectors, there has always been five at a time but about ten years ago a nephilim wanted to take over the world because he felt that we didn’t need to be in hiding and that the human race was to weak, he found the Guardians and their protectors and forced them to tell him were the door was at but they refused and he killed them, and since that day there hasn’t been another Guardian nor Protector until you and I came along” Jared explained

“If the weapon was so dangerous why didn’t the scientist just destroy it?” Lexi asked confused because it would have been easier to destroy it rather than to make the secret door

“Because if it was destroy it would let out this chemical that would be that same as to activate it and it will kill everything but nephilim” Jared said matter-of-factly

“so let me see if I got this right a scientist made a weapon but then hid it in a secret door because it was dangerous and it could not be destroyed and then the first Guardians and Protectors were born then a man tried to steal it and killed them all and you and I are the last ones alive to protect the door” Lexi said

“Yeah you got everything” Jared said surprised at how easily she repeated it

“Couldn’t you have just said that and not the long summary you gave me?”  she asked him

“I could have but I didn’t know how to explain it all in a sentence like you did” Jared said as he started to walk toward the wall were the fake swords were at, “Can you unlock the door?”

Lexi went to unlock the door and when she turned around Jared was racing toward her at full speed with a sword in his hands

“What the hell!?” Lexi screamed at him as jumped toward her left to dodge him

Lexi barely had enough time to straighten up when Jared struck again and one again she dodge it and the sword hit the floor. Lexi ran and stood with her back to the wall, Jared had her trapped. He struck again aiming for her stomach, before the sword touched her she jumped up and landed on the sword, then she jumped over Jared and landed two feet away from him. Then she felt pain in her back starting in her lower back spreading through her entire back, Jared had kicked her.

“What the hell is wrong with you!?” Lexi asked again

Jared just stood in front of her looking down at her, the way he stared at her scared her. She did a back flip and landed on her feet, the sprinted toward the wall were the swords were at. She took two and waited for Jared to come toward her again. Once he was in front of her he started to struck and Lexi blocked every hit with her swords. She didn’t know why he was attacking, her one minute he was explaining to her about the secret door and the next he was attacking her, had she done something to make him angry enough to hurt her? She didn’t want to be here anymore, but she would not get away from Jared without either of them getting hurt, so she decided to fight back. She kicked him hard on the stomach, which knocked him flat on his back. She jumped on his chest holding a sword at his neck and the other one at his side. He started to laugh, Lexi got mad and pressed the sword closer to his neck. Once the sword touched his skin it disappeared.

“What the hell!?” Lexi said once again

“You really like the phrase don’t you?” Jared asked her with a smirk on her face

“You are freaking bipolar” Lexi told him as she got up and started to walk toward the door

“Wait, why I’m I bipolar?” Jared jumped up and run in front of her to block her from leaving.

“Jared move out of my way” Lexi warned him

“Not until you tell me why I’m bipolar” Jared crossed his arms to show he was not going to move from there

“Cause when we came into this room your all serious, then you get all mad, then you are happy” Lexi said going around him to leave

“I was never mad” Jared stated

“Yes you were I saw it in your eyes” Lexi shivered as she remember how he looked at her

“Why you shivering isn’t warm in here, and I was not mad” Jared closed the door so she wont get out

“I’m shivering because-” she didn’t know what to say she didn’t want to tell him cause she was scared of the way he looked at her it was stupid, “I’m mad”

“By the way I was not mad I wanted to see how good you fight, and you are pretty good” Jared complimented her

“Pretty good, did you see her fight? She is amazing, I never believed that looks could be deceiving, I mean she looks so fragile but she is actually pretty strong and an amazing fighter I will never mess with you ever, you know just saying” Noah said standing in the left corner of the wall where the door is at

“How long have you been there?” Jared said with a worried face

“I walked in when you trapped her by the wall” Noah said pointing toward the wall where he had trapped her previously “don’t worry I won’t tell anyone she kicked your butt”

“Whatever” Jared rolled his eyes at him

“You know what I realized she is the first person that has kicked your ass and you haven’t gotten mad at them” Noah said matter-of-factly

“Shut up Noah” Jared gave him a little shove

“I’m I missing something?” Noah asked confused

“No why?” Lexi blurted out

“Cause he is in a good mood I haven’t seen him like that is about, actually I have never seen him in a good mood” Noah told Lexi

“Well I got tired of being my old self I wanted to smile” Jared said giving them a smile

“Stop that it’s creepy” Noah pointed at the smile Jared’s smile

“I think that you should smile more often, you have a nice smile” Lexi said blushin she couldn’t believe she had just told him that in front of Jared. Jared gave her a small thank you smile.

 “Oh thank god you’re both here” Leo said coming in with lexi on his tail

“What happened?” Noah was the first to ask

“Another tutor was killed about half an hour ago go check it out, and take Lexi with you so she could get some real experience” Leo informed them, then added, ‘’Lexi go to your room their I put some clothes and weapons on your bed, Roxie go help her, Noah and Jared you to go they’ll catch up with you later”

Roxie and Lexi walked in silence toward Lexi’s room once inside Lexi saw some short shorts and a short shirt. She got them and left to the restroom to change. When she came out she saw Roxie looking through the weapons.

“Come stand in front of me I’ll equip you” Roxie ordered her.

Roxie got some star knives on a strap band that was strapped to her left thigh. Then she put small pocket knives on her boots, they were the same boots that Jared wore and now she saw that Roxie wore that same boots. Two swords strapped on her back, a wristband on her left hand that had little spears around it. To finish it out Roxie strapped a band on Lexi’s right thigh, containing a bladed sai.

“your all ready lets go, oh wait don’t forget the coat hanging behind the door, on the inside of the left sleeve there is a dagger, if you press the little button on the wristband the knife in the shoes pop out” Roxie informed her, then added, “Let’s go”
