Chapter 23

“Jared tell me what happened in the forest yesterday” Roxie demanded

“Nothing happened” Jared told her

“Why do both of you keep on say that?” Roxie asked

“Cause noting happened I just needed some time to think” Jared told her

“So you left upset cause of nothing?” she asked

“Yea” Jared replied

“Has Lexi come back?” Noah asked

“No” Roxie told him

“Do you know what time it is, she was suppose to be back two hours ago” Noah told them

“She probably just needed more time” Sebastian told them

“I’m still worried we should go look for her” Noah suggested

“Fine let’s go” Jared began to walk toward the stables

“I’ll wait here just in case she comes back” Sebastian told them

“Okay, we’ll meet here back in thirty minutes” Noah informed them. Each one of them jumped on the back of an eglion and took to look for Lexi. Jared went North, Roxie South, and Noah West they were going to meet in the East. Jared landed on a clear spot and jumped off. He looked around for any sign that Lexi was here. Unfortunately there wasn’t any. He started to walk around heading east.

“Lexi!” he began to yell. He waited to hear a reply but there was no answer. He continued to walk east. The forest seemed to quite today there were no creatures running around like they were yesterday. He turned and decided to walk south, were he was suppose to meet Roxie, and Noah.

“Lexi!” he continued to scream her name. He should have done what the queen told her and not leave her side. In a way this was his fault. If she wasn’t so stubborn then she wouldn’t have gotten lost, and he wouldn’t be looking for her.

“Jared is that you?” he heard Roxie’s voice

“Yeah did you find her?” he asked

“No” she told him when they stood right in front of each other

“Lexi!” they heard Noah’s voice

“Did you find her?” they asked as soon as he was near them

“Yeah she is right here next to me, but I enjoy screaming her name like I’m looking for her” Noah said sarcastically

“Sorry I’m just worried” Roxie apologized

“It’s okay but look at what I found” Noah told them holding out a napkin with dirt on it

“Oh wow I have never seen dirt” Jared joked

“No, I know it is dirt but look closely there is portal residue” Noah told them

“But we portaled in from the south not the west” Roxie told them

“I know and I found this on the west, and it looks like it hasn’t been longer that four hours since it was used, and it’s a warlock’s portal not Fay” Noah informed them.

“But who would use a portal?” Roxie wondered. She started to pace back and forth.

“Jared, thank god I found you, I went to the castle to look for you but they told me you were out here looking for Lexi” Azamba told him as she approach him

“What happened Azamba?” Jared told her

“I saw two men take Lexi” Azamba told him

“What are you talking about?” Noah asked confused
