Chapter 37

A week had passed since they arrived at Axel's house. Most of the mornings Lexi was in the library reading and learning about the realms. So far she had learned that the underworld was a realm within earth which was the human realm. This answered many of her question like for instance how there was a sun in the underworld if it was in earth. She also learned that for millions of years her family, the Von Ferdinand, was well respected. In the afternoons she practiced with Jared martial arts, archery with Noah, Roxie showed her how to us a whip, and the sirens showed her how to use swords.

Lexi sat on the comfortable arm chair in the library reading a book about the fire realm. Roxie sat in the sofa playing with her hair, Jared sharpened his dagger, and Noah sat there staring at the sizzling fire.

"We are under attack!" a siren came in running and panicking.

"Who is attacking?" Jared jumped up

"Demons, where is Sir Von Ferdinand?" the siren continued panicking

"He is out in the garden" Lexi told the siren. The siren ran out of the library and made his way to the garden. Roxie, Lexi, Jared, and Noah followed him to the garden.

"Sir we are under attack" the siren yelled as soon as he spotted Axel

"Come" Axel told them. They followed him up the stairs and into a small room. The room was empty with the exception of a wooden table in the middle. On the table there was a map.

"You are going to run out the service door and into the forest" he pointed in the mad to the forest in the back of the castle "we will try to stall them here but do not take your time they will eventually find out you are not here"

"Okay" Jared understood

"Um can I go change I don't want to run in a dress" she told them looking down at the peach dressed she was wearing

"I thought I told you to always have your uniform under in case of emergencies like this one" Roxie reminded her

"I know but I never expected this" Lexi regretted not listening to her

"The number one rule of watchers is expect the unexpected" Noah told her

"Noah shut up that is not a rule" Roxie shushed him

"Hurry them you'll have 5 minutes" Axel told her. With that said they made their way toward their room. Once the door closed behind Lexi she pulled off her dress and Roxie was over at the dresser getting Lexi's uniform. She ran back to Lexi and handed her the uniform and ran to get her boots

"You'll get armed in the way" Roxie told her getting the bag where Lexi's weapons were at

"Hurry" Jared told them through the door

"Okay let's go" Lexi opened the door

"Hurry" Jared told them and sprinted down the hall. They all made their way through the house until they reached the back service door. Jared kicked it open letting in the cold nigh air in.

"Jared you do know there as a key to take the lock off?" Noah asked him

"Yeah but it was going to take too much time to unlock it" Jared told him and speed up. They had reached the forest; it was hard to see anything past the first few trees.

"Jared I think we should walk through it" Lexi suggested

"So they can find us no it's okay" Jared rejected her suggestion. Lexi cautiously stepped into the forest and jogged

"Lexi hurry" Jared yelled from up front

"I still think we should walk" Lexi told him

"I said no we are running through, the demons could be coming this way anytime soon" Jared told her
