Chapter 6

“Go get a sweater” Jared instructed Lexi

“I didn’t bring any in case you haven’t realized its over 100 freaking degrees” she replied

“Not in our world demon energy is cold and half the population down here are demons wait here I’ll find you one” he said as he ran up the stairs

Lexi stared at him as he departed up the stairs until she could not see him anymore. She started to walk to the door in the right, that was the only door she had not been into actually she had not noticed there was a door there until right now.

“Zaharra you find everything okay?” Lexi turned around to see Caroline behind her

“Yea” Lexi replied

“Isn’t a beautiful painting?” Caroline said looking pass Lexi

Lexi turned around and did not know what painting Caroline was talking about there was a door were Caroline was looking at not a painting.

“What painting?” asked Lexi confused

“That one” Caroline pointed to the wall were Lexi only saw the door and not a painting

“I--” Lexi began to tell her that there was not a painting there when she got interrupted

“Zaharra lets go” Jared was by a door under the stairs, “Here” he said handing Lexi a black wool coat as she approached him he opened the door and signaled her to go in.

“I thought we were going to go outside not to the basement” Lexi said as she passed him

“We are going outside but not in this world in the underworld” he said as he closed the door behind them

Once the door closed the light turned on and they were standing in a elevator Jared reached for the buttons and pressed the lobby.

“are we going down?” Lexi asked confused she thought that they were in the bottom floor how could it go any downer

“Zaharra you might want to put on your coat now before we get to the bottom” Jared pointed at her coat

“Lexi” she said as she put on the coat

“What?” Jared asked as the elevator doors opened he was right as the doors opened there was a breeze that she could feel all the way in her bones.

“My middle name, I don’t like Zaharra so people call me Lexi” she said as she step out of the elevator

She step out into a huge room there were pillars everywhere and the floor were so glossy and clean she could see her reflection on them. Even though she was wearing a sweater she could feel her muscles contracting because of the cold.

“This way” Jared said pulling her by the arm. She followed him as he led her out into the streets. This was like nothing she had never seen before it was like a magical world down here there was bars for vampires, pixies flying all around, weird creatures rooming the streets. There was werewolves’ socializing with vampires, little weird half demons running around playing with each other. Not everyone here was an ugly demon some looked as normal as humans except from the part that they breathed fire, feed on humans, and were half demons.

“This is so amazing” she said as she picked up a beautiful flower and was about to smell it but Jared knocked it out of her hand

“Trust me you don’t want to do that, the pretty things here are the most dangerous they use their prettiness to lure in preys, like that flower you were about to smell sprays poison that paralyzes its prey that it eats it, the middle was its mouth but it doesn’t open it until the prey is paralyzed” they continued to walk down the streets of the underworld until they reached a tall house outside of the city

The door opened before they even knocked, a tall boy probably in him late teens with black hair and black eyes stood in the doorway.

“Hey Jared how have you been, I haven’t seen you in like what three months what do you need and who it your friend?” the tall boy asked Jared

“Four months, this is Lexi, Lexi this is Tyler an old friend” Jared said introducing Lexi and Tyler, “Why can’t a frind visit his old friend without wanting anything”

“Yes a friend could visit a friend without wanting Anything but you can’t”

“Fine can I borrow two Pegasus” Jared asked as he started to head to the back of the house

“Fine but bring them back both of them” Tyler told Jared as he opened the stable doors

“Do you know how to ride a horse?” Jared asked Lexi

“Yes- but that is no horse it has wings” Lexi said as Tyler came out with two beautiful white horses with wings

“It’s the same as if riding a horse except with the fact that it’s in the air need help getting on?” Tyler told Lexi as he handed her the Pegasus

He got her by the waist and threw her up on the Pegasus like if the was a feather and flew away with Jared.

“Where are we going?” Lexi asked when she catch up with Jared

“Atlantis” He smiled at her and speed up.
