Chapter 24

“Why don’t we just kill her” Lexi heard a voice say. She was coming back to conscious. The last thing she remembered was going for a walk through the forest. Everything was blurry. She opened her eyes and saw her brother sitting on a chair; her dad was leaning over a table reading a book, they seemed to be in some sort of abandon building, there was dust everywhere in the floor she could see footprints where they had stepped.

“She is not ready” her father said. Then it all came back to her; her brother and father chasing her through the forest, then they had found her after she twisted her ankle and her brother suffocated her.

“She is back with us” Vance said when he saw her looking around. Her father glanced up from the book to look at her then went back to reading

“How have you been?” Vance asked in the least interest

“Why do you care?” she asked

“I do care I’m your big brother” he informed her

“You stopped being my brother the day you joined James to try to kill me” she told him

“Aren’t you happy your wish came true we are back together?” he asked

“Vance why don’t you go keep watch?” James asked

“Nobody knows we are here, and I bet her friends don’t even know she is missing” Vance whined

“I didn’t ask you I told you, now go” James told him

“Fine” Vance got up and left

“you know you never answered my question” she told him

“What question?” he asked still reading the book

“Is it harder to kill the guardian knowing it is me” she told him

“At first yes, but then I realized you weren’t my real daughter and that changed things it made it easier” he informed her

“What do you mean I’m not your daughter?” she asked confused

“Haven’t you learn anything about your race?” he asked

“No” she replied

“Well let me give you a little lesson on your race, a guardian can only be born if one of the parents are pure, and your mom and I aren’t which only meant you weren’t mine” he explained

“If you aren’t my dad then who is?” she asked

“Axel Von Ferdinand” he spited his name

“Is that why you left?” she asked

“Jared why don’t you stop spying and come in?” he offered. The door opened and Jared walked in.

“Lexi are you okay?” he asked as soon as he saw her

“Why couldn’t you be my son, I’m telling you Vance is really worthless” James told him

“You should give him some credit, he tries” Jared told him

“It is not enough” he yelled

“In my opinion I think you should unchain her I mean have you seen her size she is so little how much harm cab she do” he expressed

“I think you are right, why don’t you unchain her?” he asked

“Fine with me, where is the key?” he looked around

“Here” James threw him the key. Jared catched it and went to unchain Lexi.

“Jared I was wondering, you know why don’t you join me you can rule any realm of your choice” James told him

“It does sound interesting but you see I’m her protector and I will do anything to save her” Jared drew a sword that was strapped on his back.

“I guess it has to be this way” James got a sword that was laying on the table. They walked around in circles treating the one another with the swords. James was the first to strike. Jared blocked it using his sword. James then kicked his legs and Jared fell in his back, James threw himself on top of him using his knees to pin him down. Jared curled his feet up to his stomach and kicked James off him. As soon as Jared got up he jumped and kicked James hard on his chest sending him a few feet back. He went to Lexi’s side and threw her on his back then he began to run toward a wall. He pulled out a pistol from his pocket and shot the wall creating a huge hole in the wall. As soon as they had jumped out and into the water outside there was an explosion. Lexi swam back to the surface. Once her head was out she realized she was not in an abandon building but an abandon ship. All around her were pieces of the boat floating. She swam to the nearest piece, which was a piece of metal; she got up on top of it and began to look for Jared. After a few seconds he rose from the water. Lexi used her hands to paddle toward Jared. When she reached him he got on the piece and sat down.

“You okay?” he hugged her

“Yeah” she hugged him back

“Azamba!” Jared screamed

“What, isn’t that the little person that fed us in the Fay realm?” she asked

“Yeah that’s me” Azamba told them coming out of one of Jared pocket

“What are you doing here?” Lexi asked her

“I wanted to help you guys, you see I can create portals and I think that will be very handy to you guys” Azamba told her

“Okay, were are we, why don’t you portal us out of here?” Lexi asked

“We are in Terra more commonly known as earth” Jared explained

“No wonder it looked familiar” Lexi exclaimed, then asked “Where are the others?”

“Waiting for us somewhere over there” Jared signaled to a tree, then added, “We should be heading over there before they think we didn’t make it out”

“Start paddling toward shore” Azamba ordered. Jared and Lexi leaned over the sides and began to paddle. After a few minutes of paddling their way toward shore they reached it.

“You two had me so worry” Roxie exclaimed as soon as she saw them and ran to them. She almost dropped Lexi when she hugged her.

“It’s nice to see you too, Roxie” Lexi told her

“I’m glad you are okay” Noah pulled Roxie away from Lexi and hugged her

“Where is Sebastian?” Lexi asked looking around

“I knew we forgot something but I didn’t know what, now I do” Jared told them

“He will come back next full moon” Noah explained

“How can you forget him?” Lexi wondering

“Well he was waiting in the castle just in case you came back, and we didn’t went back we came straight here when Azamba told us what happened to you” Jared explained

“We should get some rest” Noah offered

“My house is a few blocks up the street” Lexi told them

“Then lets go, this place is really creepy” Azamba said from inside Jared’s pocket
